Trump Chides Biden on His Saying Climate Change Is Greatest Threat to the Country

Donald Trump is definitely gearing up to get reengaged in the public square just five months after leaving the White House, and he looks to be having fun doing it.

Don #45 has been on a bit of a roll for the last couple of weeks and making sure that even though he is banned from the big social media platforms, he is still focused and engaged and ready to roll. Our latest example comes in the form of him calling out Joe Biden’s latest foot in mouth episode in Europe.

From New York Post:

As he arrived in Europe to rally US allies against Russian hackers and Chinese secrecy on COVID-19’s origins, President Biden said that the Pentagon told him global warming is “the greatest threat facing America.”

Biden said the conversation happened shortly after he became vice president in 2009 and that he believes it.

“When I first was elected vice president with President Obama, the military sat us down to let us know what the greatest threats facing America were,” Biden told US troops in England shortly after landing for his first foreign trip as president.

“This is not a joke: you know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest threat facing America was? Global warming. Because there’ll be significant population movements, fights over land, millions of people leaving places because they’re literally sinking below the sea in Indonesia, because of the fights over what is arable land anymore.”

I sometimes get confused when I read transcripts of good ole Joe. Whenever he starts off with “This is not a joke” I get crossed up, wondering if he is stating he is not a joke or if what he is about to say is not a joke. This is, of course, because what he says a lot of times is funny even though he does not mean it to be, which makes him funny.

Donald Trump wasted no time jumping on this by releasing this statement from his website DonaldJTrump.com:

Biden just said that he was told by the Joint Chiefs of Staff that Climate Change is our greatest threat. If that is the case, and they actually said this, he ought to immediately fire the Joint Chiefs of Staff for being incompetent!

He is right, ya know.

Now, you are going to have some people say, “BUT THIS WAS SAID WHEN HE WAS VICE PRESIDENT,” and that is true. Yet you miss a couple of points here that shows Joe Biden is not just incompetent as President but has been this way his whole career in politics.

Joe is in Europe for meetings with other world leaders in his capacity as President of the United States. He is on the international world stage and everything he says will be measured by leaders with countries both pro and anti-America. He is we are told the most experienced person to ever be President. Yet here in front of our troops, he says that he was told by military leaders while he was the Obama veep that the greatest threat is climate change?

He is not joking.

Whether or not he is being truthful here ( Joe has a tenuous relationship with reality), he will set the stage for these meetings saying this about climate change and not other really serious issues facing our country.

Remember, he is not joking.

If you just glance at what has happened in the United States in the past month, you might be a bit leery to think that climate anything was on the radar, yet here we are with Joe.

*Russia or China hacked the Colonial Pipeline software which gummed up energy being delivered to the east coast for almost two weeks.

*Russia or China hacked the JBS meatpacking plants that delayed burgers and other fine delicacies that Americans enjoy from being readily available for a short time.

*Oh and by the way, we have all those stories about how the evolution of the Wuhan Virus might not be what we were all told last year about this time from my colleague Scott Hounsell and many others here at Red State.

You might think that POTUS #46 would be a tad bit more concerned with one or two of those things plus another five or six but he wants to talk about the temperature rising a half a degree.

As I said at the beginning of this post I think Donald Trump is having fun and settling in to have even more and I’m glad he is. I know there is that precedent of former presidents not commenting on what the current President is doing but let’s face it, Jimmy Carter blew that up 30 years ago. Trump needs to speak out on what the current occupant is messing up even though Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms are trying to silence him.

Joe is screwing up so much in his first months in office I’m glad POTUS #45 is still engaged and willing to call out the non-funny things going on with the current occupant of the Oval Office.

Just like Joe, I’m not joking.
