Being it is CHRISTmas week it might not be a bad idea to show some bi-partisan spirit and adopt a Democrat for the remainder of the year. I will do my part and adopt Tulsi Gabbard as she is on a roll as of late. While I don’t agree with her on a lot of things she does get some things very right.

As my colleague Bonchie wrote HERE a couple of days ago, she refused to take the vaccine ahead of others who are actually in the HIGH-RISK category. Now, she is blasting the COVID-19 stimulus bill in a viral video that gets to the heart of the matter.

This bill S-U-C-K-S.

In a video on Twitter that is under 2:30 minutes and has now garnered over 1.5 million views, she torpedoes this monstrosity and rightfully says that this is no way for elected American representatives to treat those whom they serve.

$600 is a slap in the face to every American struggling due to the pandemic. You deserve better.

“First of all, this bill was over 5,500 pages long, we received the text of this bill at approximately 2:30 this afternoon, and we’re told you have to go and vote on it a few hours later. There is no way that anybody in Congress had the opportunity or the time to go through and read this bill to know exactly what was in it. I’ve been here long enough to see how provisions are snuck [sic] into these bills in literally in the dark of night, without any announcement, without telling anyone what is in it, and then rushed through in the manner that we have just seen tonight.”

ZING.

Congress has been talking about passing something for over 4 months now and, with literally just days left in this session of Congress, they throw together a crap sandwich before they head home for the holidays and want to act as if they moved heaven and Earth to help you, the American citizen. If anyone can explain why the Kennedy Center in D.C. needs another bailout and why we should be funding gender studies in foreign countries I’m all ears. Plus the insult of giving the almost 6,000-page bill to members and telling them to vote on it in less than a day is nonsense. Pure unadulterated Washington D.C. nonsense.

She continued…

“This is the height of irresponsibility, and it is absolutely no way for the people’s representatives to be able to represent the interests of the American people, the central part of this bill was supposed to be about providing direct COVID relief to the American people who are struggling and who need help the most. This bill dished out hundreds-of-billions of dollars going towards special interests, going towards the military-industrial complex, going towards foreign countries. Meanwhile, saying, here’s what’s left for you. You get 600 bucks.”

How can you argue with that? The simple answer is that you can’t. You spent BILLIONS on a lot of needless stuff and here is 600 bucks to buy you off.

Thanks, Uncle Sam.

Gabbard is leaving Congress at the end of this term and we will never know if she had won reelection and were staying, if she would be this big of a pain in the arse to the Democratic leadership that sleepwalked through putting this bill out. I would like to think so but one never knows with our elected officials.

However, once again in the spirit of the season, I’m going to say she would and wish her a very Merry CHRISTmas and hope she enjoys Hawaii where I hear it is beautiful this time of year. Truthfully, any place is better than the frozen wasteland of the swamp of Washington D.C. at this time of year — or ANY time of year.
