A broken clock is right twice a day and the same can be said for Al Sharpton, although I think the clock is still right more often.
Part-time MSNBC host and all-around guru of odd phrases, the Reverend Al Sharpton, was on the snoozefest known as the “Morning Joe” to give his political analysis of the CNN debate on Tuesday night. Al doesn’t see anyone ready to take on the champ currently living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Hot diggity dog he is right.
According to Washington Free Beacon…
Based on the candidates’ performances in Tuesday evening’s Democratic debate, Sharpton told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” “You don’t become champion by just saying, ‘I’ll get by this round.’ You gotta take the title. And I didn’t see anybody on the stage last night or in the ring that really said, ‘I’m taking charge, I can be president, I can take on Donald Trump. Because he is going to come in with that kind of mindset. And I don’t see that mindset yet in any of the candidates.”
The 2020 Democrats have worked to earn the MSNBC anchor’s support because of his influence among African Americans. Sharpton has yet to throw his support behind a particular candidate.
First off, WHO IN THE HELL is working to get Al Sharpton’s support?
Well, in retrospect, I guess when all the leaders in your contest are old and white maybe they are groveling to Al. ( Pro-Tip write a check to his “foundation and endorsement will magically appear.)
Another talking head but this one on CNN, Van Jones also echoed the same sentiment that Rev. Al was saying here. No one is anywhere up to ramming speed yet to take on Donald Trump. If the ones left standing are still playing nice with each other they are running out of daylight being the Iowa Caucuses are just over two weeks away.
Al is just an old hustler but Van Jones is still a bit of a street fighter in his political prime. If they BOTH are saying that no one is even close to ready to run at POTUS #45 it would behoove those candidates up on the stage to stop begging for an endorsement and maybe earn it in a debate.
From what I recall that is what the current President did 4 years ago.
Let me quote a great American poet, the fabulous “Nature Boy Rick Flair” who used to say…
to be the man, you gotta beat the man.
and then yell WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
No Liz Warren, you can’t change into a male chief to qualify.
