CNN Reported Trump Would Speak to the Nation Last Night Once Again Getting It WRONG.

FILE - This Jan. 17, 2001 file photo shows pedestrians entering CNN Center, the headquarters for CNN, in downtown Atlanta. The latest rough patch for CNN illustrates the two contradictions at the network's heart. In a brutal time for the news business, CNN is one of the few media organizations thriving while its most visible part in the United States, prime-time on the flagship network, is hurting. The company has built its brand on nonpartisan reporting, while CNN's audience tilts Democratic as much or more as Fox News Channel's audience is Republican. (AP Photo/Ric Feld, File)

When the news starts to fly, the one thing you can count on is that the World Wide Leader in misinformation is going to get something wrong and then deny they got it wrong.

Don’t you ever change, CNN.

Last night, after initial reports were coming in that Iranian missiles were flying to hit U.S. military assets in Iraq, news outlets were breathlessly working all angles to bring viewers the latest most comprehensive information available. I will even say that CNN’s earlier reporting was fairly accurate.

Then the curse of Brain Stelter struck once again.

CNN, from all indications, was FIRST TO REPORT that the President would be speaking to the nation from the White House to address the nation. Possibly to announce retaliation for the Iranian strikes or some other thing CNN reporters made up during a commercial break.

Here was CNN reporter-ette Kaitlin Collins with the BREAKING NEWS via Twitter.

Aides are making urgent preparations at this hour for Trump to address the nation, per
@jeffzeleny
. The specific timing TBD & could be delayed given we are still learning info but two officials say a speech is being prepared and plans are being made for Oval address.

I have to admit I was looking forward to hearing the President troll the world and get more Twitter followers. Alas, the initial report from our heroes at the Fredo Cuomo and Don” one more shot of vodka” Lemon network, jumped the gun once again.

According to the White House official spokesperson Stephanie Grisham via Twitter…

This is not true – was never true – & no one even attempted to confirm with the press office before tweeting. In a race to be first to break news, the public once again falls victim to irresponsible “reporting” by
@CNN

@jeffzeleny

@kaitlancollins

Well, that happens, of course, everyone gets it wrong on occasion. Kaitlin and Jeff were probably too busy playing back episodes of the “West Wing” in their minds and wondering when C.J. was going to give them the scoop that would finally make them real news reporters.

Normally, you would just end the mess up there and maybe apologize and move on but not at CNN: THE WORLDWIDE LEADER IN GETTING STUFF WRONG. They were not letting this go. They have to pay for the lawsuit settlement for that Sandman kid, so pretending they still have credibility is at stake.

They pressed on…

The most shocking thing about this statement is that the
@presssec
is completely out of the loop in her own shop. CNN’s reporting that preparations were being made for an address was 100 percent accurate, and was confirmed with multiple WH officials. Nice try.

“Nice try.” Really?

Is that some sort of secret euphemism for Jim Acosta’s whole career at CNN?

You got it WRONG AGAIN, CNN!!!

So what normal people who work in news do, that don’t dream of the Orange man melting, is suck it up and move on. Is that really so hard?

Stating that the Press Secretary is out of touch with her own shop is silly. SHE IS THE SHOP, you mind-numbed reporting robots. I’m going to go ahead and say out loud that I’m openly considering now that the Trump White House did this on purpose to troll you people. How many times does Lucy have to pull the football away from you to realize you are being TROLLED? Eternity times ten?

Simply amazing.

So, in closing, let’s all be thankful that no American service people or Iraqui forces were killed. Hopefully, CNN gets that part right being MSNBC crapped themselves on that front. Also, for those who were screaming on Twitter for Grishom to do her job and hold a press conference so Acosta could preen in front of a camera — she did her job her last night.

She corrected yet another erroneous report from CNN.

Mic. Drop.
