We have a pretty good idea where Secretary of State Marco Rubio stands on policy, but what is he really like behind the scenes?
Rubio and his wife recently sat down for an interview on Katie Miller's podcast (Katie is the wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller). The show put aside politics for a bit and veered into the personal.
We know he thinks the couch memes are funny and doesn't like to eat keto. He likes to roast his administration colleagues over things like their cats being jerks (Pete Hegseth) and coolers full of sauerkraut (RFK, Jr.).
And, now we know how his perfect weekend would unfold. It's something that millions of red-blooded American men (and women!) will instantly recognize – and wholeheartedly endorse.
Here's another hint: Rubio's probably very happy with what's starting to pop up on TV this weekend.
The perfect weekend, revealed the secretary, starts with college football.
"The day would actually start much earlier. The greatest show on television today in America is 'College GameDay.' Great show. Starts around 10 or 11, and that leads you to noon, and then the noon game, and then there’s a 3:30 game," he said.
It's more of the same on Sunday.
"You could start at 10:00 AM on Saturday, you know, run the whole college football day, sleep for a few hours, then you wake up and then you’re into NFL Gameday. Then you’ve got the 1:00 game, the 4:00 game, the NBC game that night.
"That is an incredible weekend, in my opinion, in my view."

Marco Rubio may have just found the one thing that can unite Americans across the country.

"That is an incredible weekend, in my opinion, in my view," he said.
This isn't just some manufactured hype to make a politician look more relatable to everyday Americans. Marco Rubio's football fandom is the real deal, as he proved when he visited the practice facilities of the Washington Redskins (sigh, Commanders) last week to observe his team, the Miami Dolphins, participate in a preseason scrimmage.
Marco Rubio's authenticity is something that can't be manufactured by some DC spin doctor or focus-tested into existence. The man really does love his football, as he really enjoys poking fun at his colleagues and seems perfectly content being himself.
That kind of authenticity matters in the world of politics, especially at a time when Democrats are struggling badly with white male voters and seem increasingly disconnected from the culture and interests of a huge swath of American men.
Meanwhile, Rubio is over here planning the perfect weekend around 15 hours of college football and a full Sunday of NFL games. Mrs. Rubio was unavailable for comment on that one.
But, hey, it's no wonder people like the guy.
