It was just last week that voters in Wisconsin gave a resounding "Yes!" to voter ID, but it's looking like Congressional Democrats—and some of their party elders—didn't get the message that Americans want only Americans voting in our elections.
A similar effort to ensure election integrity in federal elections, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, passed the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday by a vote of 220-208. That means only four Democrats crossed the aisle to vote in favor of requiring "proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office."

The House just passed @RepChipRoy's SAVE Act to ensure American election integrity.

To Rep. Biggs' point, this vote, coming right on the heels of the Wisconsin vote, shows that the Democrats are a party committed to opening up U.S. elections to illegals, with the hope, of course, being that they'll vote for Democrats. This is despite polling that shows 84 percent of U.S. adults favor requiring photo identification to vote, and 83 percent support taking things even further by requiring proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time.
That's how committed Democrats are to voter fraud.

The debate surrounding the SAVE Act has outed the left for being utterly out of step with Americans on this crucial matter, but there's a patronizing little nugget hiding in their messaging in the lead up to Thursday's vote: women, despite being girl bosses, are too dumb to figure out how to change their names after they marry.
That's what Hillary Clinton, once called the smartest woman in the world, said:
Are you a woman who changed your name when you got married?

Congress is considering a bill that could make it much harder for you to vote.

This messaging is wild, right? It’s insane how condescending that argument is when you step back and take a closer look at what Hillary Clinton is implying here. Women have been handling name changes for decades—on Social Security cards, driver’s licenses, passports, bank accounts, mortgages—but now suddenly Democrats want us to believe that the very same women are too helpless or downright stupid to update a voter registration? That certainly doesn't describe any of the women I know.
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) had a few things to say about the condescending stance of the Democrats during the pre-vote Floor speeches.
"This bill is very, very simple. It ensures that only American citizens can vote in our federal elections. It isn't hard. 87% of Americans believe only Americans should vote in our elections," says Rep. Cammack of the SAVE Act this morning on the Floor. pic.twitter.com/6PfOMy8Et9

Stop insulting women! I am sick and tired—and I know women across the country are sick and tired—of being talked down to and being insulted repeatedly with the fear mongering tactics of the left.
The processes are already in place for women to change their names in order to participate in the electoral process. Marriage doesn't somehow transform us from capable members of society into doddering fools in need of rescue by the Democrat party—and that goes for blacks and other minorities the left like to portray as incompetent.
It's not really about women or minorities, though; it's about a party that puts its partisan interests above fair elections. They are all about undermining the very democracy they claim they want to protect.
The SAVE Act now goes to the Senate for consideration; expect more of the same from Democrats.
