Sad News for Democrats in Virginia As Their Porn Star and 'Pee Tape' Candidates Fail to Win

Democrats everywhere are in mourning Wednesday with the news that two of their best and brightest candidates lost their races in Virginia. Affectionately known here as "wannabe porn star" and "pee tape lady," Susanna Gibson and Jessica Anderson lost their respective races for the House of Delegates.

Gibson, a nurse practitioner, made national headlines earlier this year when old sex videos she and her husband had made for online consumption — and profit — surfaced:

Gibson, a 40-year-old mother of two, posted more than a dozen videos that were archived on a site called Recurbate in September 2022, which is after she officially entered the race, and the most recent videos were archived on Sept. 30, 2022.

In the aftermath, Gibson, who hails from the Richmond area, tried to portray herself as a victim of Republicans, saying she was the target of "an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family." Putting porn out on the internet where anyone can find it is hardly an invasion of privacy, and the state Republican Party took full advantage of the situation by inundating voters in her district with mailers that contained screenshots and warnings that minor children shouldn't open the envelopes.

A pretty effective tactic, as it turns out.

Gibson lost to her Republican opponent, David Owen, by 2.5 percent.

Then there was Jessica Anderson, a House of Delegates candidate from Williamsburg. She tried to one-up Gibson in the kooky candidate stakes by taking a video of herself urinating in a public park and posting the video online. Anderson also shared a video of herself dancing and gyrating dressed up as an eggplant. What is it with these leftist weirdos and their need to overshare?

Anderson, too, tried to make it look like she was a victim of "the elephants in the room" and assured supporters she was on the road to victory. She lost to the GOP incumbent, Amanda Batten, by nearly four percent.

Democrats often need to be reminded that actions have consequences. While it was by no means a sure thing that these two bastions of virtue would lose their races, especially when considering it wasn't the best night for Republicans, it's gratifying to see that enough voters still value common decency to send the loonies packing.

There may still be some sanity yet in the Old Dominion.
