Here’s the thing about Hollywood stars like Jennifer Lawrence … they simply don’t have a clue.

In reacting to the violence last weekend in Charlottesville, JLaw took to her Facebook page to call on her 16+ million followers to identify the “pathetic cowards” pictured in photographs from the white supremacist march. She almost certainly felt justified in using her influence to incite a mob of internet sleuths and anonymous keyboard warriors to name and shame the marchers.

What could possibly go wrong, right?

Naming and shaming can be a good thing. It can also go horribly wrong, as it’s very hard to correctly identify persons in photos like the ones that have emerged in the wake of the turbulent weekend. Will Jennifer Lawrence be willing to accept responsibility when one of her angry warriors misidentifies a marcher and ruins the life of an innocent person?

Because that’s what the left does to people they don’t like. They hound. They harass. They ruin lives. They are Saul Alinsky through and through.

Jennifer Lawrence – and, indeed, many of us – may not like the fact that white supremacists, the KKK, and neo-Nazis exist in our country. They may be the amongst the most repugnant faction of our citizenry, but they damn sure have the right to free speech and the right to assemble. These are the same rights that allow her and her Hollywood cronies to churn out movies with awful storylines and biased premises.

It’s also worth pointing out that the marchers had pulled the correct permits, and, according to the Charlottesville chief of police, had mostly assembled peacefully at Lee Park, except for several marchers who used the wrong entrances. The real trouble began when the counter-protesters showed up, then the ugliness on “both sides” began.

Will Jennifer Lawrence use her lofty perch to call on her followers to identify the counter-protesters? The anti-fa fringe that showed up with makeshift flamethrowers and other chemical irritants with the intention to harm? Of course she won’t, because free speech only goes one way in her mind.

Is was reckless of Jennifer Lawrence to incite an angry mob in order to silence a different angry mob. Lives could be ruined because of her wrongheadedness, and she’ll never have to accept responsibility because she’s safe in her gilded cage. It’s the rest of us who’ll have to clean up the messes made by her and her ilk.

Here’s some unsolicited advice to Jen: Shut up and act.
