Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy said the quiet part out loud about his Democratic Party when he admitted that Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani's communist views are the future of his party.

CNN's Kasie Hunt asked Murphy about last week's shocking upset in the Democratic New York mayoral primary when the self-described socialist who wants government-owned grocery stores, rent freezes, and refuses to condemn the antisemitic phrase "Globalize the intifada!" emerged as the victor over disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Hunt asked Murphy if Mamdani "is the future of the Democratic Party."

The senator replied that, "I think his message, his economic message, is the future of the [Democratic] Party."

Earlier in the day, Murphy spoke to MSNBC about the socialist Democratic mayoral candidate and told the anchor that "there are certain things he [Mamdani] stands for and says” that he doesn't agree with.

However, in the next breath, he said, "I think you have to pay attention to the fact that you have a candidate in New York City that was talking every single day about the cost of living, and he was proposing really big, sometimes radical ideas to take power from folks that have way too much of it."

"He did have a laser-like focus on the cost of living on shifting power to people who don't have enough of it," he added. "And I think that if the Democratic Party, writ large, spent as much time or as big of a percentage of our communications time talking about the cost of living as Mamdani did in New York, we probably win a lot more elections."

As RedState reported, regardless of what the legacy media is trying to paint Mamdani as, proof is readily available that the guy who calls himself a Democrat socialist is a communist.

On Sunday evening, a clip from 2021 showing Mamdani declaring that the "end goal is to seize the means of production" went viral. Here's a pop quiz for you: What do you call someone who wants to seize the means of production? Any guesses?

If you answered "a communist" to the above, you'd be correct. There is no more fundamental aspect of communism than seizing the means of production. So, how do you think noted fact-checking outlet Politifact handled this issue? Did they do a deep dive into Mamdani's past to give an honest assessment of his ideology? Of course not. They just declared it false to say he's a communist, even though he's absolutely, without a doubt, by his own admission, a communist.

RedState's Sister Toldjah wrote about how news organizations like CNN have no interest in honestly reporting about what it would mean if Mamdani were elected and New York had city-owned grocery stores, like in Cuba and North Korea.

Toldjah wrote about the so-called "experts" it trotted out to go to bat for Mamdani:

This is more common than people are aware of," said Nevin Cohen, director of the City University of New York's Urban Food Policy Institute. "There's a wide spectrum of food retail establishments that could be created by or with the support of city government."

[...]

But Errol Schweizer, a veteran of the grocery industry who publishes the newsletter "The Checkout Grocery Update" and has written in support of a public grocery sector, said Mamdani's proposal would address a failing in the market. Government-owned grocery stores would not compete directly with bodegas and convenience stores, which typically do not sell fresh produce and meat.

Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville has tried to warn the party about Mamdani, who he said has not "walked back" calls for "global infitada" [sic], RedState reported.

"I can't imagine that any Democratic candidate anywhere in the country is going to be able to escape answering this question. I think the microphone's going to follow him around. I think that they're going to pound this home as hard as they possibly can," Carville said.

"Depending on who comes in a general election, there's a lot of Democrats that are going to have a hard go at this. I think it's a potentially damaging event," he added.

It's official: The radical left has officially taken over the party.
