Geraldo Rivera is a ridiculous dude.
For some reason, Sean Hannity decided to have him appear on his CPAC panel discussion on Parkland and the gun control question.
I can only imagine Hannity was hoping to have someone appear on his show that was more intellectually insipid than himself.
While sitting along with Hannity, Dana Loesch, and Katie Pavlich, Rivera suggested that Trump was “moved” by the stories of survivors of the Parkland shooting, to the point that he was ready to do something about gun control, even if it meant going against the NRA.
This was not what the CPAC crowd was ready to hear.
“We need to do something. It won’t solve the problem. If the NRA doesn’t want to be on the junk heap of history, will adopt this reform,” Rivera said.
Definitely not what they wanted to hear. That comment was met with boos and jeers.
Rivera is nothing, if not a drama queen.
“You want to do nothing?” Rivera yelled into the audience. “Do you want to just do nothing? Just leave it the way it is?”
Because more laws, more government overreach into our lives is the solution, right?
NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch responded, “Geraldo, do you want a solution or do you want to scream?”
Trump has actually signaled a move opposite of what the NRA supports, including raising the legal age for gun ownership and stricter background checks.
In the meantime, Rivera was out of line and definitely out of place at a CPAC convention.
Watch the exchange below, including Loesch’s masterful response.
