Trump's Constant Slams Are Hurting the Morale of the FBI

This seems like an obvious outcome.

Think about it: When you have a high-intensity job and your whole department is trashed and ridiculed on what amounts to a near-daily basis by your boss, it’s gotta take a toll.

Is there anyone that thinks having an FBI broken is good for our nation?

According to comments made by former and present FBI officials, that’s exactly what’s going on with the FBI, due to the man-baby in the White House. His Twitter rants, reaching out to single-minded Trump fanatics, who know no truth but Trump truth, are regurgitated without question and spread across social media.

If that’s not enough, recent reports are that he’s got a group of busy little bees among Republican lawmakers conducting secret investigations into the DOJ and FBI, how is it that one of our nation’s premiere law enforcement agencies is made to feel like the criminals?

It gets more insidious.

After firing James Comey and hiring Christopher Wray, you had to know he had certain expectations of the new FBI director.

Along with Trump’s attacks on the agency:

The agency’s new director is also reportedly under pressure to remove people whom he perceives as loyal to former Director James Comey, including Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

McCabe recently spent two days and 14 hours being questioned by several committees, behind closed doors.

Reportedly, his answers were not the smoking gun Trump’s loyalists were hoping for, and in fact, his testimony may have corroborated what Comey said about the president asking him for “loyalty,” as well as asking he let Michael Flynn off the hook, before firing him.

The latest round of attacks against the FBI are due to two agents, Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page exchanging personal texts that showed a clear dislike for Trump before the election.

They also had a problem with Bernie Sanders and Eric Holder.

Strzok and Page both worked with Robert Mueller’s investigatory team. When the text messages were discovered, Mueller immediately fired Strzok, back in July. Page had already completed her assignment and moved on.

Still, this was the nugget Trump needed.

His loyalists have pounded this story and insisted it is proof that the entire FBI is corrupt and out to get Trump, hence the entire Russia probe is corrupted and needs to be shut down.

Tom Fitton, of Judicial Watch compared the FBI to the KGB – ironic.

Fox News suggested the FBI was guilty of planning a coup.

A recent guest on Fox News’ “Outnumbered” even dropped the word, “assassination.”

This has got to be depressing for those FBI agents who just want to serve this nation.

Deputy White House press secretary Raj Shah told the Times that Trump has “enormous respect for the thousands of rank-and-file FBI agents who make up the world’s most professional and talented law enforcement agency,” but that top officials, including Comey, had tainted the agency’s impartiality in pursuing justice.

Yes, this is what he says through his press secretaries, but when the filter is off and he’s on social media or talking to the bobbleheads of Fox News, it’s another story, completely.

The House Judiciary Committee is preparing a series of subpoenas for Strzok, Page, McCabe, and Department of Justice official Bruce Ohr.

Perhaps they can find answers that will satisfy everybody and shut down the notion of a corrupt FBI, out to get the perpetual victim, Trump, after these interviews.
