I'm with Her: Trump Backs Haley's Play and Warns UN About Voting Against the U.S.

Good. This is exactly the right message to send.

After U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s stern message to the United Nations, ahead of a vote on a resolution, basically meant as a rebuke to the U.S. for the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, President Trump basically gave her two thumbs up.

And while I think Trump’s announcement was just another big, “Look at me! Look at me!” moment for the Narcissist-in-Chief, he wasn’t wrong to do it, because it’s the truth. Jerusalem is Israel’s capital.

Also, the United Nations is a contemptuous collection of pimps and scabs, and we need to boot them out of our country.

But I digress…

While speaking at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Trump signaled his approval of Haley’s remarks:

“I like the message that Nikki sent yesterday at the United Nations for all of these nations that take our money and then they vote against us at the Security Council, or they vote against us potentially at the assembly,” he said.

“They take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars, and then they vote against us. Well, we’re watching those votes,” he added. “Let them vote against us, we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”

Perfect.

I know some will call it politics-as-usual, the way things are done, etc… this notion that we should financially support those who view us and our allies contemptuously, but allowing it to go unchecked is just lazy.

We’ve had several Ambassadors to the U.N. in recent memory that were pretty much weak sauce. Samantha Power, the last ambassador was simply the corrupt arm of the Obama agenda.

That’s not the case with Nikki Haley. She’s experienced and tough, and she’s absolutely got those jackals within the U.N. pegged.

This is one of those rare moments where I give kudos to Trump, because he has her back on this, and it’s the right thing to do.

Trump said at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday that Americans were “tired of this country being taken advantage of” by other nations willing to oppose the U.S. on the world stage.

“This isn’t like it used to be where they could vote against you, and then you pay them hundreds of millions of dollars and nobody knows what they’re doing,” he said.

Putting our foot down should have come a long time ago.
