President Trump’s naked devotion to all things Putin was on full display Saturday, as he lashed out at critics of his Vietnam sidebar meeting with the Russian president.

Trump’s meltdown came after several people pointed out that going overseas to trash his nation’s intelligence community, while at the same time singing a love song to a hostile foreign power really isn’t a good look for a sitting U.S. president.

Speaking with reporters about his meetings with Putin:

“Every time he sees me he says, ‘I didn’t do that,’ and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One regarding Russia’s interference in the election, according to White House pool reports.

How sweet.

“I can’t stand there and argue with him, I would rather have him get out of Syria,” Trump said. “You have President Putin very strongly, vehemently says he has nothing to do with that. Now, you are not going to get into an argument, you are going to start talking about Syria and the Ukraine.”

Ok. Sure.

Trump later lashed out at the continuing criticism with an angry tweet.

When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There always playing politics – bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help!

Trump doesn’t really get that you can’t make house pets out of former KGB agents. And I get that he really wants the Russia probe to go away, but that’s not going to happen, no matter how angry he gets at his own people.

Everybody thought we were done with the Obama-era apology tours.

Nope. Now we’re into Trump-era oversea jaunts to watch a U.S. president trash his own intelligence community abroad, and sing the praises of communist strongmen.
