GOP Has Shelled Out Big Bucks at Trump-Owned Properties So Far in 2017

Speaking of turning a profit from the presidency…

Republican committees and their associated functions have enriched the Trump family business to the tune of $1.3 million, so far in 2017.

According to the Federal Elections Commission, around 25 congressional campaigns, state parties, and the Republican Governors Association have shelled out over $473,000 at Trump-owned properties.

Additionally, Trump-owned companies have received an additional $793,000 from the Republican National Committee and the president’s campaign committee, which includes rent payments and legal consulting.

The RNC, for example, paid $122,000 to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., after the party committee hosted a fundraiser there in June. Roughly 300 Trump supporters attended the fundraiser, which cost $35,000 per person and raised $10 million for the RNC and the president’s re-election committee.

The RNC is one of 19 federal political committees that has visited the Trump International Hotel this year.

Add $15,000 for lodging for the president’s own reelection committee at one of his hotels.

And there have been campaign events aplenty.

Some of the GOP candidates who have invested into the Trump coffers:

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (Calif.)

Rep. Jodey Arrington (Tx.)

Rep. Bill Shuster (Pa.)

Rep. David Valadao (Calif)

Rep. Eric Crawford (Ark.)

Rep. Mike Kelly (Pa.)

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (Calif.)

Rep. Ted Yoho (Fla.)

Sen. Bob Corker (TN.)

In addition to the Trump International Hotel, the Republican Party of Virginia shelled out $9,705 for a room rental and catering at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Va., in May.

The Republican Governors Association paid $408,000 for an event at the Trump Doral Golf Course in Florida, which was booked several years ago.

Add this to the report that broke earlier today of Secret Service agents who have hit their pay max and are at risk of receiving no more pay for protecting Trump and his family, and some measure of revulsion should be rising up in your throat, like bile.
