Marc Lamont Hill, for whatever else may happen this week – and there’s sure to be a lot – wins the “Jackass of the Week” award.
During a panel segment on “CNN Tonight” Monday night, Hill engaged in a bit of heated back-and-forth with Bruce LeVell, the Executive Director of National Diversity Coalition for Trump.
LeVell also served as a GOP chairman for the state of Georgia.
During the exchange, Hill went after black Americans who supported Donald Trump, or who had taken time to meet with him over the last few days, in an effort to build a diversity team.
“They (the Trump transition team) keep bringing up comedians and and actors athletes to represent black interests. It’s demeaning, it’s disrespectful, and it’s condescending,” Hill argued. “Bring some people up there with expertise, Donald Trump, don’t just bring up people to entertain.”
Hill went on to mention far left ideologues, who wouldn’t be caught dead speaking with Trump, unless they were allowed to browbeat him over his “white privilege,” and in order to push liberal causes.
LeVell responded to Hill:
“You weren’t even there…” retorted LeVell. “Pastor Darryl Scott, Mike Cohen, they are in the process of bringing all types of people from all over the country, from all different backgrounds. Remember the diversity coalition where we reached out to all different types of people?”
Hill’s response was typical of his nature, which is to say, disrespectful and arrogant.
“Yeah, it was a bunch of mediocre Negroes being dragged in front of TV as a photo-op for Donald Trump’s exploitative campaign against black people. And you are an example of that,” Hill said, adding later he wasn’t engaging in “name-calling.”
No, suggesting that any black Americans not backing your agenda are “mediocre Negroes” isn’t the same as name-calling, at all.
Marc Lamont Hill is the worst kind of American, and the very reason we can’t have nice things.
