I honestly used to believe Newt Gingrich was one of the more politically savvy minds on the scene. I also thought he was one of the true patriots, who had this nation’s best interests at heart.

Now I’m forced to wonder if maybe he stayed in the game just a little too long.

TheRightScoop featured video of Gingrich’s appearance this morning on “Fox and Friends” as he gave his prediction about the upcoming election.

Historic speech? Remarkable speech? Surprising margins?

What will be surprising is if Trump wins more than 5 states, max.

If you want to hear a “historic” speech, coming out of this election cycle, as it addresses the African-American community and reaches out to make the GOP a Big Tent party, none came close to Governor Rick Perry’s July 2, 2015 speech on race at the National Press Club. Anyone who missed it, here it is.

Yes, I know I’m picking at a scab, right now. You’ll have to forgive me. I do this on occasion to keep myself appropriately enraged at the system that stuck us with a reality TV mountebank, and denied us some of the most competent and meritorious leadership the party had to offer.
