Truly, Donald J. Trump is one colossal anomaly.
I’ve seen a lot of squishy moderates, barely-Republicans, and outright RiNOs in my years as a political geek. Rarely have I seen an outright liberal, in the same vein as Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, gain the confidence of those who claim to be conservatives, simply because he stuck an “R” beside his name.
Today, with the well-being of our nation in the balance, it may very well come down to a case of whether there are more intelligent, rational people than dull witted Trumpkins in Indiana.
We’ll have our answer soon.
With that said, the war of words between Trump and Cruz escalated today. While Trump did what Trump does: Said something so unbelievable and wrong, it lapsed into the moronic, Cruz shot back with some basic truth.
It began with Trump calling into his campaign headquarters (Fox News), and in the course of his daily morning promo, he made the claim that Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, was somehow linked to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Let’s not forget this jackass also went “9/11 Truther” in the middle of a debate and claimed President Bush was involved.
He is not a mentally stable man.
Cruz responded:
“This man is a pathological liar. He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies,” Cruz told reporters. “He lies — practically every word that comes out of his mouth.”
“Liar” is one of the more tame titles the gilded toad can rightfully carry.
Senator Cruz also called him a “serial philanderer” and a “narcissist.”
He’s right on all counts.
Trump chose to reply:
“Ted Cruz is a desperate candidate trying to save his failing campaign. It is no surprise he has resorted to his usual tactics of over-the-top rhetoric that nobody believes.”
His usual tactics?
If not for “over the top rhetoric” – and a dumbed down populace – there would be no Trump campaign, to begin with!
“Over the last week, I have watched Lyin’ Ted become more and more unhinged as he is unable to react under the pressure and stress of losing, in all cases by landslides, the last six primary elections,” he added.
Trump continued, “Today’s ridiculous outburst only proves what I have been saying for a long time, that Ted Cruz does not have the temperament to be President of the United States.”
That Trump is still calling names at this stage says a lot about what an idiot he really is. What’s more, while Cruz’s reaction was natural and expected, when you consider Trump’s attack on his elderly father, it is Trump who has proven to be not only “unhinged,” but the behavior of he and his cultists demand actions to prevent them from having any representative voice in the way this nation is governed, going forward.
There. I said it. Branch Trumpidians need to be silenced. Their very existence is evidence of a systemic dumbing down of our society that will leave us powerless and broken, as a nation.
This one, probably more so than any of the primaries so far, is going to be a nail-biter. We have the choice between an actual conservative, with experience in government, and a sloppy-coiffed con artist, with all the intellect of a turnip.
Choose wisely, Indiana.
