Aging Pop Star Desperately Grapples for Relevancy

In the continuing fight to force perversion on mainstream America, fading pop star, Bruce Springsteen, has spoken.

Seizing on any opportunity to remain relevant in the age of Adele and Ed Sheeran, Springsteen has jumped on an easy target – North Carolina’s recently passed bathroom bill – and has canceled this Sunday’s scheduled Greensboro, NC stop for his Aged and Angry Tour.

Upon hearing the news, I, personally, was forced into an impassioned, “Meh.”

In wording that unwittingly reveals the lack of self-awareness that so many leftists find themselves plagued with, Springsteen posted a statement to his website:

“Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards.”

That pushing thing, Bruce – when you continuously push, as the left has done for years, you shouldn’t be shocked when those who don’t share your corrupt worldview push back.

Describing the bill that has so upset Springsteen, the NY Daily News states:

North Carolina passed a restrictive law on March 23, forcing transgender men and women to be limited to using only the bathrooms of the gender they were born into, rather than the one with which they identify.

What is left out of the statement, and the reasoning that Springsteen’s elder-rage seems impervious to, is that the bill is in response to a broadly worded Charlotte, NC ordinance, that would have allowed for any man to walk into any women’s bathroom or locker room, even in schools, at any time, with no proof they were transgendered. The bill puts common sense restrictions in place against North Carolina cities, preventing any city government from unilaterally setting such guidelines for all businesses and schools.

The LGBT movement is the new frontier in cultural Marxism, safety and comfort for the remaining 99.7% of the population be damned.

To date, North Carolina governor, Pat McCrory, has stood his ground, meeting once with human rights activist and agreeing to look over the language of the bill, but stopping short of promising to alter its intent.

As for “the Boss,” maybe he’s still the boss somewhere north of the Mason-Dixon line, but otherwise, his elitist temper tantrum has barely registered a blip on the radar.

It’s not 1984 anymore, Bruce. Nice try, though.
