With the increasing incidence of Democrat operatives appearing all throughout the day, and who are never challenged as they spin Democrat narratives, Fox News Channel is becoming virtually unwatchable except for a couple of night-time shows. It’s clear that all of those Democrat hacks are provided the same messages to repeat whenever they are granted air-time.
Marie Harf is just one example among many who parrot Democrat lies on a regular basis. A month ago, Fox News host Steve Hilton skewered her for abetting and covering up John Kerry State Department involvement in Ukrainian corruption (she was once Kerry’s spokesman). It was very refreshing to see one of these Democrat hacks directly confronted, as that almost never happens; they are allowed to filibuster at length with very little push-back on air.
Harf recently spun the revelation that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) obtained phone records of ranking member Devin Nunes (R-CA), the President’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, and independent journalist John Solomon (among others) and included that information in his “impeachment inquiry report” without even a courtesy notification of the Republican minority members of his committee. She claimed (paraphrasing) that there were no subpoenas of congressmen or journalists, the information was gained through lawful subpoenas, and Nunes should step aside because he has a “conflict of interest” as a result.
Yes, yes, Marie, that’s EXACTLY the same modus operandi used by the Obama DoJ/FBI Crossfire Hurricane Team to illegally surveil the Trump campaign through the Carter Page FISA warrant – the perversion of the FISA process by Deep State and Democrat political operatives to use information gained from FISA searches to attack US domestic political opponents. And that’s EXACTLY what they’re trying to repeat in insisting that Devin Nunes recuse himself (that’s a clear indication that Democrats fear Nunes’s effectiveness).
Lee Smith explained exactly how that works in his new book, “The Plot Against the President: The True Story of How Congressman Devin Nunes Uncovered the Biggest Political Scandal in U.S. History:”
[I]t was Obama who was most like Nixon because Trump’s predecessor used the resources of the federal government, sensitive surveillance programs and staff to spy on his opponents. It started many years before the [Russian] collusion narrative swallowed by the media.
As the Russiagate hoax unfolded, it was clear that most of what the Clinton operatives, intelligence and law enforcement officials, and Obama aides had engineered had been rehearsed during the battle over the Iran deal.
….
[There were no compelling national security reasons to use surveillance programs against Americans engaged in legitimate political activism that, due to the nature of the policy under debated, involved conversations with foreigners.
….
In spying on the representatives of the American people and members of the pro-Israel community, the Obama administration learned how far it could go in manipulating surveillance programs for its own domestic political advantage.
In short, the Obama administration used FISA warrants monitoring foreign actors (in this case, Israelis) to collect and exploit political intelligence on Americans with whom those Israelis communicated. This is EXACTLY the same process that was used to spy on the Trump campaign in 2016. The FBI concocted rationale for a FISA warrant to monitor Carter Page for “national security reasons” and then used the intercepted communications for political purposes in their coup attempt. That effort also included leaking classified information – including the unmasking of Trump supporters – to friendly reporters after President Trump was inaugurated, as Lee Smith further states in his book: “That was the essence of the political campaign targeting the Trump White House: Obama officials leaked classified intelligence to political operatives with bylines to sabotage Trump.”
All of this through a perversion of the FISA process: obtain a warrant to monitor foreign communications, then exploit any communications with American citizens for political purposes – either through unmaskings or unauthorized leaks of related classified information.
And that is exactly what Harf is trying to excuse yet again by claiming that the information Schiff released was not “illegally obtained.” That’s B.S. because production requests associated with communications collected under FISA warrants are NOT to be used against American citizens unless they are involved in national security-related actions antithetical to the United States, NOT for domestic political purposes. Schiff’s disclosure of those phone records is at the very least unethical and a violation of the Fourth Amendment rights of those Americans whose records were disclosed – if not downright illegal.
But then acting unethically and denying constitutional rights (e.g., due process) to the President, other Republicans, and journalists is par for the course for Schiff, other Democrats, and their paid hacks like Harf in the legacy media, isn’t it?
Best advice? Don’t believe a single word that Democrat hacks like Marie Harf regurgitate on FNC. Their whole purpose is to obfuscate, misdirect, and misinform in service of Democrat Party political objectives.
The end.
