Interesting stuff today materialized out of Ukraine. Ukraine, for those of you wearing face masks, is a nation that was vitally critical to US national interests right up to the point when President Trump’s impeachment charges were laughed out of a Senate that counts Mitt Romney among its members. Ukraine became a political battleground in the US because Joe Biden somehow managed to get his grifting, coke-sniffing, baby-daddy son a job on the board of a directors of a company in an industry with which he was not familiar in a country to which he has no family ties and can’t even speak the language of the rest of the board. Now debunked allegations that President Trump conditioned military assistance to Ukraine upon Ukraine investigating Joe Biden led to Trump’s kangaroo court session run by Jerry Nadler and the farcical Senate trial that followed.
Today some tapes were leaked by a Ukraine Member of Parliament named Andrii Derkach. Here are the tapes, in YouTube form, and here are key parts via Robby Starbuck on Twitter
Part 2 of the Biden, Kerry, Poroshenko calls leaked by Ukrainian MP Andrii Derkach. He says investigative journalists got the calls and the calls were presumably recorded by Poroshenko.

Part 4 of Biden, Kerry, Poroshenko calls. In this call Poroshenko calls Biden’s promise to sign for the billion $ loan "extremely motivating" in terms of firing the Ukrainian prosecutor Shokin. Biden says he needs to "huddle with his team" to approve the new Ukrainian prosecutor. pic.twitter.com/rje151ntWi

Part 6 of Biden, Kerry, Poroshenko calls leaked by Ukrainian MP Andrii Derkach. In this call Poroshenko details the quid pro quo explicitly. Earlier in the calls he says there’s no evidence of Shokin being corrupt but they demanded his resignation anyways for Biden.

The calls must be investigated. Why was Biden trying to get Shokin removed when Ukraine had no evidence of wrongdoing? Does Hunter Biden’s role at Burisma play into it? How will Democrats defend this when they impeached @realDonaldTrump for an innocent call to Ukraine (far less)!

All it took was the right person to notice
Yikes!!!! This is not a “perfect conversation”
An audio recording of a conversation between Joe Biden and Petro Poroshenko on May 13, 2016 – YouTube https://t.co/7R2YxzDpGM

And the Biden campaign and their fluffers in the media literally beshat themselves
Joe Biden’s director of pudding…I mean ‘rapid response,’ the Truth Over Facts guy.
Even after a Russian intelligence asset doctored that recording, it was still a nothingburger. The debunked lie that got your daddy impeached is dead.

This from BuzzFeed News (hahahaha, learn to code, baby) European division
Here's a preview of what you'll likely soon see from pro-Trump US media, @RudyGiuliani & @jsolomonReports: 'Ukraine MP releases damning audio of Biden & ex-Prez Poroshenko discussing firing of ex-prosecutor Shokin. But the audio doesn't reveal anything new & is heavily edited.

An ‘investigative journalist’ doing reverse jujitsu
One of Biden’s state directors
Derkach is a graduate of the Felix Dzerzhinsky Academy of the KGB in Moscow. https://t.co/waYIwHOhWg

Another ‘investigative journalist’ and convicted felon
And concern trolling from some guy I never heard of affiliated with an organization that does heaven knows what
This is a great example of why journalists need to be absolutely faithful to the facts. I doubt Solomon thought he was helping a foreign disinfo campaign — he just wanted his favorite president re-elected. But bullshit has consequences, and here we are.

Here are the key points as I see them.
The tapes come from a guy who is a school-trained KGB thug so the possibility that they are doctored. There is also a possibility that they aren’t. In this case I think that the same credence need to be shown these tapes as our fearless media firefighters gave to the the Manafort “black ledger,” also from Ukraine, and to the Steele dossier, which was produced by FSB thugs. The tapes, doctored or not, fit, at a minimum, the standard Dan Rather set for the media with his Texas Air National Guard documents in 2004: fake but true. They dovetail perfectly with what we know about Biden’s efforts to shake down Ukraine for money for his kid and with what Biden told us himself about getting the prosecutor who was getting too close to Hunter Biden fired:In other words, we are required to take these tapes at face value, assume they are true, and proceed accordingly.
What would the next step look like?
Well, with an ordinary American, like Donald Trump, we’d unleash the Intelligence Community and the FBI. We’d get FISA warrants on his kid…they could sell the recordings on PornHub and help write down part of the Wuhan stimulus package. We’d run undercover operatives against members of his campaign. We’d set up stings to entrap senior staffers. We’d leak lies to the press to discredit Biden. But Biden isn’t an ordinary American. He’s Democrat royalty. So we can’t really have a Justice Department and FBI controlled by President Trump investigate Biden. It would be gauche and unseemly. But we do have a solution. A special counsel. Department of Justice regulations say this about the appointment of a special counsel:
28 CFR § 600.1 – Grounds for appointing a Special Counsel.
§ 600.1 Grounds for appointing a Special Counsel. The Attorney General, or in cases in which the Attorney General is recused, the Acting Attorney General, will appoint a Special Counsel when he or she determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted and –
(a) That investigation or prosecution of that person or matter by a United States Attorney’s Office or litigating Division of the Department of Justice would present a conflict of interest for the Department or other extraordinary circumstances; and
(b) That under the circumstances, it would be in the public interest to appoint an outside Special Counsel to assume responsibility for the matter.
I think we’re there. No other administration has ever carried out a criminal investigation of a candidate for president from another party and President Trump certainly wouldn’t want to be the first. Even though the tapes must be presumed true, we would be remiss in not giving Biden the benefit of the doubt and there is no better person to do that than a special counsel.
