I often rail against the soft-on-crime policies of leftists and the fact that so many Democrat politicians have completely forgotten the notion of “consequences” for one’s actions.
"Make Consequences Great Again" has been my mantra.
Behavioral science has repeatedly shown that if you are rewarded for doing something good, you will generally continue to do it — but if there is no punishment for doing something bad, you’re likely to continue to do that too. And that’s exactly what we’ve seen in many of our major cities as criminals operate with near impunity in New York City, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, et al.
My criticism does not extend to the Trump administration, however, because they seem to understand the scope of the problem and have been tackling it with gusto. First Assistant U.S. Attorney for California Bill Essayli, under the direction of Acting United States Attorney General Todd Blanche, doesn’t just want to put these cold-blooded killers behind bars; he wants to unalive them:

Essayli’s lengthy tweet continues:
Dennis Anaya Urias, 27, Grevil Zelaya Santiago, 26, and Roberto Carlos Aguilar, 31, all of South Los Angeles, are charged with one count of murder in aid of racketeering and two counts of conspiracy to retaliate against a witness or informant. These defendants have been in federal custody since May 2025 and are scheduled to go to trial on July 21.
Two of the suspects are, not surprisingly in these times, illegal aliens:
Urias and Aguilar are Salvadoran nationals. Urias has a green card. Aguilar is an illegal alien. Santiago is an illegal alien from Honduras.
According to court documents, Urias and Santiago fatally shot the victim at a grocery store in South L.A. on February 18, 2025. The victim’s status as a government cooperator was well known by MS-13 and made the victim subject to a “green light” order that made him a target for murder by MS-13 members.
Approximately one hour before the victim’s death, he had what appeared to be a chance encounter with Aguilar inside the grocery store. Following that encounter, Aguilar set in motion a series of events that led to Urias and Santiago murdering the victim.

Essayli said the words that seemingly no Democrat will utter in the modern age: you’re going to pay for your crimes.
Thugs and terrorists will find no shelter under this administration. If you take someone’s life, then you will forfeit your own.

I don’t have a blood lust, and I don’t fantasize about causing other people pain. That being said, I have been utterly dismayed and saddened as innocent victims like Iryna Zarutska, the Ukrainian refugee who was senselessly slaughtered in Charlotte, North Carolina, by a deranged individual who had a rap sheet longer than most of today’s newspapers. There are so many other similar stories.

The world can be a tough place, but if we as a society tolerate wanton violence and criminality, the obvious result is that we will experience more of it. Todd Blanche, Bill Essayli, and the Trump administration understand this, but far too many Democrats are willing to let it continue because it fits their leftist/Marxist worldview.
Blanche has only been acting AG for about a week, but he’s already showing he’s not playing games. Murderous gangbangers, you are hereby put on notice.
