It isn’t enough that the Trump administration is dealing with Mueller’s vendetta, beset by Democrat partisans operating out of the US Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York, harassed by Fat Jerry Nadler’s nascent impeachment inquiry, leaked to death by “Shifty” Schiff, and blocked from carrying out even the most mundane executive functions by a weaponized judiciary. Nope. They had to get hit by another major scandal.
In 2011, days after Donald Trump challenged President Barack Obama to “show his records” to prove that he hadn’t been a “terrible student,” the headmaster at New York Military Academy got an order from his boss: Find Trump’s academic records and help bury them.
The superintendent of the private school “came to me in a panic because he had been accosted by prominent, wealthy alumni of the school who were Mr. Trump’s friends” and who wanted to keep his records secret, recalled Evan Jones, the headmaster at the time. “He said, ‘You need to go grab that record and deliver it to me because I need to deliver it to them.’ ”
The superintendent, Jeffrey Coverdale, confirmed Monday that members of the school’s board of trustees initially wanted him to hand over President Trump’s records to them, but Coverdale said he refused.
This is the kind of juvenile nonsense that @KFiles pulls on a slow day. It should have been beneath whatever dignity the Washington Post has after the Covington kids/Nathan Phillips debacle.
Political candidates use personal connections to have records put off limits to the press and the public all the time. We still haven’t seen the college transcripts of either Obama, much less their high school transcripts. President Bush refused to release his Yale transcript but some little Bolshevik leaked it. I would guess that thought was foremost in the mind of the people who put Trump’s transcript outside the reach of leakers. Especially as the disappearing of his transcript took place in the context of him taunting Obama about Obama’s own transcript that he refused to make public and jeopardizing his claim to being our philosopher-king
Does anyone have any doubt why Trump’s friends did this? I don’t. We know Trump was sent to New York Military Academy because he was a disciplinary problem…shocker, right? We know while he was there he was interested in two things: sports and women several years older than him who we can expect shared his moral outlook (NTTAWWT). What do you think his transcript looked like? I’m willing to wager a very large amount against a very small amount that he was not a frequent entry on Dean’s List. Wait–you’re shocked that rich and/or powerful people have friends who will cover for them? Get out.
What the purpose of this is simply baffles me. It tells us nothing we don’t know. It sheds no new light on anything. It simply doesn’t matter beyond giving Bulwark Conservatives another talking point to use on their next cruise.
