James Comey Uses Another Fawning Interview to Attack the Rule of Law

James Comey used the occasion of another tongue bath interview by the Washington Post to engage in what can only be described as a direct attack on the rule of law.

Former FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday criticized a judge who voiced skepticism about the prosecution of Paul Manafort, saying the judge’s comments about overstepping were themselves going too far.

“I don’t know how a federal judge could possibly know enough about an investigation … to offer a view like that,” Comey said in an interview with The Washington Post’s Carol Leonnig.

U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis last week told Justice Department prosecutors that he thought the financial crimes charges against the former Trump campaign chairman were really about “getting information that Mr. Manafort can give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump and lead to his prosecution or impeachment or whatever.”

As my mom would say, even a blind man could see what Mueller is doing. He’s made zero progress and zero arrests on the main focus of his investigation, this would be collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government in the 2016 election. The only indictment involving Russians that Mueller has produced seems to be nothing more than a sham and public relations stunt. The judge was simply reacting to the filings produced by Mueller’s team and the answers he got from his questions. Beyond that, we’ve been told over and over that it is wrong to question judges. I mean I saw people who claimed to be conservative defending the Bizarro World order by a couple of West Coast judges on Trump’s “travel ban,” the one that was upheld by the Supreme Court.

Comey is riding a tiger right now. The stories he told in his book don’t comport with his testimony to the Senate. His stories about leaking his memos via a friend who as also an FBI special employee don’t hold up to any scrutiny whatsoever. Whenever he’s confronted by anyone who has taken the time to familiarize themselves with the case, like Bret Baier, he’s reduced to a gibbering lunatic (no offense intended to Nancy Pelosi). Don’t be shocked if it is eventually proven that Comey and Brennan and Clapper and Yates all worked hand in hand to start this Russia investigation.
