Michigan Doctor Arrested for Genital Mutilation of Little Girls

Federal agents have arrested a 44 year old emergency room physician, Jumana Nagarwala, on charges that she performed female genital mutilation (FGM) on several children. Nagarwala is an immigrant from India… no information on her citizenship status… and her victims were all children of immigrant families.

The investigation revealed that in one particular case, a 7-year-old was brought by her family from Minnesota. An investigation into phone records revealed their location. The child was interviewed on April 10. She stated that she was brought to Detroit for “special girls trip.”

The child victim also stated that she said she had to go to the doctor “to get the germs out.” Upon a medical exam on April 11, a doctor determined that the child’s genitals had been altered or removed. The child identified Dr. Nagarwala as the doctor who performed the procedure.

The affidavit also alleges that there are Michigan victims as well.

Keep in mind the timeline on this. Probable cause was developed in February. She was arrested in April. About 8 weeks elapsed.

FGM is a well-known problem in the United States. Usually it is framed as immigrant families sending children back to the “old country” to be butchered but you had to be an idiot not to know that most of this happens in the United States and it is performed by “medical” practitioners who are Muslim and backward enough to go along with this atrocity.

Across the 28 African and Middle Eastern countries where FGM is still practiced, three million girls are at risk of being cut each year. The procedure, seen as a rite of passage and believed to discourage premarital sexual activity, removes part or all of the genitalia on young girls. It can lead to a lifetime of painful medical conditions and even death, and for years has been decried as a human-rights abuse by the international community.

But it’s not just an issue for faraway lands: FGM is occurring on American soil and to American children. As immigrant communities proliferate in the United States, activists say the number of American girls has only been increasing since the last known study—done nearly 15 years ago—which estimated that nearly 230,000 young women annually were at risk for FGM in the U.S.

Since 1997, when FGM was outlawed in the US, there has been exactly one conviction. Yet the CDC estimates that over a half-million girls and women were either mutilated or “at risk” of mutilation.

How can this even be? Easy. The same mindset that is afraid to apprehend terrorists for fear of angering the Muslim community in the United States is fearful of suppressing FGM. Hopefully this arrest is a sign that a new day is dawning and American Muslims are expected to obey American law and not the laws and customs they have brought from the Third World sh**-holes where they were born. I hope the FBI also follows this up with the arrest of the parents of the girls who were mutilated.
