A blog called The Root reported yesterday that Bernie Sanders used a rap song by the group DMX called “Where the Hoot At” to warm up a the crowd at a rally.

Other than the cognitive dissonance of a septuagenarian Bolshevik walking onto the stage to a rap music there was the small matter of the lyrics… to the extent that these can be called lyrics.

Man, cats don’t know what it’s gonna be
F*ckin with a nigga like me, D-to-the-M-to-the-X
Last I heard, y’all niggaz was havin sex, with the SAME sex
I show no love, to homo thugs
Empty out, reloaded and throw more slugs
How you gonna explain f*ckin a man?
Even if we squashed the beef, I ain’t touchin ya hand
I don’t buck with chumps, for those to been to jail
That’s the cat with the Kool-Aid on his lips and pumps
I don’t f*ck with niggaz that think they broads
Only know how to be ONE WAY, that’s the dog
I know how to get down, know how to BITE
Bark very little, but I know HOW TO FIGHT
I know how to chase a cat up in the tree
MAN, I GIVE Y’ALL NIGGAZ THE B’INESS FOR F*CKIN WIT ME, IS YOU CRAZY?!?

Okay I feel like I just walked onto the set of a remake of Airplane

What has the left exercised is the lines that allegedly, and I am open to contradiction on this, advocate shooting homosexuals.

I show no love, to homo thugs
Empty out, reloaded and throw more slugs

Rabid, spittle slinging left winger, John Avarosis, of “AmericaBlog” alleges that part of the song in anti-transsexual, too.

Apparently, according to Avarois, there are other tapes of rallies that do not feature the DMX song and I suppose that when Trump hears about this he will immediately find a conspiracy linked to George Bush or Ted Cruz’s father.

To tell you the truth, I don’t even care. Just being able to write about a 70-year old Jew being accused of homophobia based on rap lyrics played at his campaign rally is enough reason to write this. If someone had ever told me– before the campaign season unfolded– that this would emerge as a controversy, I would have laughed in their face. Now I’m just laughing. Or drooling and giggling as I eat boogers. YMMV.
