Music is an amazing thing. It can focus your mind and your soul. Bagpipes and drums have steeled men to march to near certain death. It is also a negative force. If I had to date the downfall of Christmas it would be when “White Christmas” and “Holly Jolly Christmas” supplanted the hymns of praise to the birth of Our Savior changed the holiday to a mostly secular celebration of greed and conspicuous consumption.

Anyway, here are a couple of “flash mobs” that I find enjoyable. Not only for the music but for the juxtaposition of reminding people engaged in the most secular of activities of the Birth of Christ and the magnificent music that has been created to commemorate that event and, in effect, bearding commercialism in its den.

And all you damned kids get off my lawn!
