Water is wet. Fire is hot.
On Friday, CAIR laid the blame for the San Bernardino shooting squarely where it belongs:
Hussam Ayloush of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Los Angeles Chapter said Friday that American and Western foreign policy is partly to blame for global Islamic terrorism and extremist ideology.
…
The CAIR-LA Director then placed partial blame on the United States and the west at-large, saying, “Let’s not forget that some of our own foreign policy, as Americans, as the west, have fueled that extremism.”
He went on to say the U.S. supports dictators and repressive regimes in the Middle East and elsewhere, citing Egypt as an example. He argued that these policies “push people over to the edge.”
“Then they become extremists. Then they become terrorists,” said Ayloush. “We are partly responsible. Terrorism is a global problem, not a Muslim problem. And the solution has to be global. Everyone has a role in it.”
He needs to update his talking points. The Obama regime assisted in the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak and placing the Muslim Brotherhood in charge. A military coup changed that, but the Obama regime still does not recognize the change in government. One is also more than a little unclear why supporting unsavory regimes in, say Latin America, has never set off a wave of shootings and bombings by enraged Argentines or Hondurans or Nicaraguans or Salvadorans.
Over the weekend, the father of the male San Bernardino terrorist, also named Syed Farook, gave an very intriguing interview to the Italian newspaper La Stampa:
In an interview with Italian daily La Stampa, Farook said that he once tried to console his son by promising him that Israel would not exist in another two years because “China, Russia and America will bring the Jews back to Ukraine.”
In Sunday’s La Stampa (link in Italian) report, Farook said, “My son said that he shared [IS leader Abu Bakr] Al Baghdadi’s ideology and supported the creation of the Islamic State. He was also obsessed with Israel.”
“I told him he had to stay calm and be patient because in two years Israel will not exist any more. Geopolitics is changing: Russia, China and America don’t want Jews there any more. They are going to bring the Jews back to Ukraine. What is the point of fighting? We have already done it and we lost. Israel is not to be fought with weapons, but with politics. But he did not listen to me, he was obsessed,” Farook explained to US correspondent Paolo Mastrolilli.
…
In the La Stampa interview, Farook denied the accusations, saying that “Rizwan’s mother is very religious, as he was, and they united against me. Once we had a dispute over the historical figure of Jesus. My son called me a godless person and he decided that my marriage with my wife had to end,” he recalled. “They destroyed the family.”
This casts an interesting light on the shooter’s motivation and it also points to the possible source of the shooter’s and his wife’s radicalization as being the wife and mother of the Syed Farooks.
The first translation of this article had hardly appeared when CAIR was on the scene:
Farook’s father told the Italian newspaper La Stampa that his son agreed with the ideology of Islamic State leaders and was “obsessed” with Israel.
But a local activist, speaking alongside one of the family’s attorneys, later backtracked and said the elder Farook did not recall the comments he made to the publication.
Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in the L.A. area, said the father, like the rest of the family, is “dealing with a lot of stress.”
“He’s on medication,” he said. “He doesn’t recall saying that.”
This rather grotesque essay into damage control proves that loose lips sink Islamofascist narratives, it seems.
As Leon reported last week, the two mouthpieces you see averring to represent the family of the terrorists who killed 14 Americans in San Bernardino, David Chesley and Mohammad Abuershaid, are hired by CAIR. They spent a substantial amount of time pointing out that 1) the Sandy Hook shooting possibly never happened, 2) that the shooter felt his colleagues made fun of his beard, and 3) distancing the shooters from Islam in all its particulars. In other words, they were deployed as a strategic resource to achieve CAIR’s objectives and any benefit the family has received from their representation has been secondary.
CAIR is involved in San Bernardino for two reasons. First, the shootings were terrorism. Second, CAIR is poxed to its unibrow with terrorism. It has been declared a terrorist organization by the UAE and its history is well known. And yet CAIR is still welcome in the Obama White House.
