The US Department of Justice continues is slide into being nothing more than the coercive arm of the Democrat party and champion every looney-tune progressive tic that manifests itself.
In the aftermath of the San Bernardino shooting, where two radical Islamists had a bomb making factory in their home and massacred 14 people at a holiday luncheon before dying in a shootout with a platoon of law enforcement officers, the Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, was speaker at the 10th Anniversary dinner of Muslim Advoacates. This is a group that can only be classified as a group dedicated to providing legal cover for Islamic terrorism in a way that would shame even CAIR. The issues, after Paris and after San Bernardino, are:
- Counter anti-Muslim hate by challenging bigotry and hate crimes
- Empower communities by strengthening American Muslim charities and educating people about their legal rights
- Fight discrimination with high impact lawsuits against those who wrongfully target American Muslims
Did Lynch stand up for peace and non-violence? No. Not at all. Did she address the very real strain of violence that is baked into any mainstream version of Islam? Or the violent tendency that led to the Boston Marathon bombing and the Chattanooga shooting and San Bernardino?

Of course not. Her message was “no matter what you do, the Department of Justice has your back.”
Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Thursday warned that the Justice Department could take aggressive action against people whose anti-Muslim rhetoric “edges towards violence” and told the Muslim community that “we stand with you in this.”
Speaking at Muslim Advocate’s 10th anniversary dinner, Lynch said since the terrorist attacks in Paris last month, she is increasingly concerned with the “incredibly disturbing rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric … that fear is my greatest fear.”
Following the Paris attacks, there has been an uptick in violent attacks on Muslims and threats against mosques across the country. That, combined with heated political rhetoric such as GOP presidential front runner Donald Trump’s call to register Muslim Americans, has Muslim community leaders worried that they could be facing a new era of discrimination.
Lynch made it clear that she shares those concerns, but vowed to use the DOJ to protect Muslims from discrimination and violence. Noting the rise in violence against Muslims and mosques in the wake of the Paris attacks, Lynch added that, “When we talk about the First amendment we [must] make it clear that actions predicated on violent talk are not American. They are not who we are, they are not what we do, and they will be prosecuted.”
“My message not just to the Muslim community but to all Americans is ‘We cannot give in to the fear that these backlashes are really based on,’” Lynch said.
You really owe it to yourself to visit the horrible list of attacks on Muslims that BuzzFeed refers to. These attacks have left 0 people dead and 0 people injured and 0 people endangered. And given the documented propensity of Islamists to create “anti-Islamic” incidents themselves, most of the list is laughable.
There is also issue where our children are affected, such as anti-Muslim bullying in schools. We’re active on that as well –@LorettaLynch

This presumably is a nod to “Clock Boy,” the kid who was used to create an incident at his school.
This, unfortunately, is not new ground for the Obama Justice Department. It has been singularly uninterested in preventing Islamist violence and it lies about the nature of the violence when it occurs. It took years before the Fort Hood shooting was declared terrorism. The attack on Pam Geller’s “draw Mohammed” contest is probably considered a bad critical reception. The FBI has said they will never know the motive of the Islamist who shot up the Armed Forces recruiting station in Chattanooga. And despite what we know about San Bernardino, the FBI seems poised to walk back the initial determination that it was terrorism. When the administration does get involved it is not to clamp down on the root source of terrorism it is to threaten innocent Americans with prosecution. For instance, the douchebag US Attorney for Eastern Tennessee, a guy named Bill Killian, spoke at the “American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee.”
“We need to educate people about Muslims and their civil rights, and as long as we’re here, they’re going to be protected,” Killian told the newspaper.
Killian, along with the FBI special agent that runs the Knoxville office, are set to speak next week to a special meeting with the local Muslim community, informing them about their rights under federal law.
“This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion,” Killian said about the meeting. “This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.”
Killian pointed to a recent controversy where a local Tennessee politician posted a photo of a man aiming a shotgun at the camera with the caption “How to wink at a Muslim.”
“If a Muslim had posted ‘How to Wink at a Christian,’ could you imagine what would have happened?” Killian asked, according to the newspaper.
It is no coincidence that terrorism was not declared the motive in Chattanooga because this same guy was leading the investigation.
This intimidation of private citizens brought on by their government and law enforcement agencies publicly allying themselves with the very communities that spawn terrorist attacks has dire consequences.
Neighbors of San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook told ABC Wednesday that they noticed “suspicious activity” at Farook’s home recently, but did not report it for fear of being called racist.
One neighbor noted that police had been called to the Farook household in the past, “maybe for a domestic violence dispute.”
Additionally, Aaron Elswick — a neighbor of Farook’s mother in Redland — said that another neighbor told him “they had I guess been receiving packages — quite a few packages within a short amount of time, and they were actually doing a lot of work out in the garage.”
“She was kind of suspicious and wanted to report it,” Elswick explained, “but she said she didn’t want to profile.”
This is not unexpected. Lynch was a controversial nominees. She had never given any hint that she was a loyal Democrat apparatchik who was more than willing to bend and stretch the law howsoever the Boss wanted it bent or stretched. In other words, she was the ideal successor to the lawless and irresponsible Eric Holder. When it came time to vote, ten GOP senators voted with the Democrats to give Obama yet another willing stooge as US Attorney General: Ayotte, Cochran, Collins, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Johnson, Kirk, McConnell, and Portman.
Would a Department of Justice that was more focused on eradicating domestic terrorism than coddling terror apologists have created a climate where these neighbors would have felt safe in reporting their suspicions? We don’t know But we need to ask.
