AP: Iran to be allowed to inspect its own facilities

I really think I am beginning to just be numb, freaking 400mg of Oxy washed down with a fifth of Rebel Yell insensible, to the combination of chutzpah, duplicity, and lack of integrity of Barack Obama and every single member of his administration.

From August 5, Obama talking about the Iran nuclear deal in front of a bunch of liberal rich kids at American University:

…It contains the most comprehensive inspection and verification regime ever negotiated to monitor a nuclear program.

For Iran to cheat, it has to build a lot more than just one building or covert facility like Fordo. It would need a secret source for every single aspect of its program. No nation in history has been able to pull of such subterfuge when subjected to such rigorous inspections. And under the terms of the deal, inspectors will have the permanent ability to inspect any suspicious sites in Iran.

First, there’re those who say the inspections are not strong enough, because inspectors can’t go anywhere in Iran at any time with no notice.

Well, here’s the truth. Inspectors will be allowed daily access to Iran’s key nuclear sites.

If there is a reason for inspecting a suspicious undeclared site anywhere in Iran, inspectors will get that access even if Iran objects. This access can be with as little as 24 hours notice.

Contemporaneously with the speech I said he was lying:

Balderdash. Iranian military facilities are off limits and the Iranians must get 24 days notice of inspection. Without full disclosure of the existing Iranian nuclear program there is no way to monitor that program in the future.

But I have to admit I was limited by my lack of imagination when it came to truly anticipating the degree to which Obama had lied.

Via the AP:

Iran will be allowed to use its own inspectors to investigate a site it has been accused of using to develop nuclear arms, operating under a secret agreement with the U.N. agency that normally carries out such work, according to a document seen by The Associated Press.

The revelation on Wednesday newly riled Republican lawmakers in the U.S. who have been severely critical of a broader agreement to limit Iran’s future nuclear programs, signed by the Obama administration, Iran and five world powers in July. Those critics have complained that the wider deal is unwisely built on trust of the Iranians, while the administration has insisted it depends on reliable inspections.

You read that correctly. If we think Iran is developing a nuke, we tell them and they investigate. Seriously. I’d like to tell you I got that from The Onion or something but this is what passes for hardnosed negotiations under Barack Hussein Obama.

On the positive side we should be thankful that [mc_name name=’Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’M000355′ ] wasn’t negotiating because Obama kicks his ass a couple of times a week.
