Cotton Derangement Syndrome passes its peak

Senator [mc_name name=’Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’C001095′ ] has the distinction of being one of the youngest members of the GOP to ever make the left totally lose their crap. First, we had a retired general who actively undercut the war in Iraq and thereby encouraged Iraqi insurgents and deceased pus-bag, Jack Murtha to try to kill more American troops criticizing, with no apparent sense of irony, a US Senator as “mutinous.” Then we had doofus Secretary of State criticize Senator Cotton for  saying Senate approval would not be forthcoming for a deal the White House as said it was not going to submit for Senate approval. Obama claimed he was “embarrassed” for 47 Senators who signed the letter somehow forgetting the hundreds of millions who are embarrassed for the rest of us every day he’s in the White House. Now we’ve reached that trailing edge of criticism, some chick (@NicFlatow) writing at TPM has demonstrated the totally unhinged nature of the criticism of Senator [mc_name name=’Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’C001095′ ] by focusing on a misstep he made in a television interview.

Schieffer: What do you want to happen here? What is your alternative here? Let’s say that the deal falls through, then what?

Cotton: Well as Prime Minister Netanyahu said, the alternative to a bad deal is a better deal. The Iranians frequently bluff to walk away from the table. if they bluff this week, call their bluff. The Congress stands ready to impose much more severe sanctions. Moreover we have to stand up to Iran’s attempts to drive for regional dominance. They already control Tehran increasingly they control Damascus and Beirut and Baghdad and now Sana’a as well. They do all that without a nuclear weapon. imagine what they would do with a nuclear weapon.

Huh? Is this ditz seriously contending that [mc_name name=’Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’C001095′ ] did anything but make a minor mistake in the course of an extemporaneous statement? Bob Schieffer didn’t ask a follow up question to that effect so it seems he, unlike this person, was bright enough to understand what had happened.

But his is typical of the left. They are SMART. And if you disagree with them that means you are the opposite of smart. So you have a singularly unaccomplished young girl criticizing a Harvard Law Grad, a commissioned officer in the infantry, a former US Representative, and a current US Senator for a slip of the tongue. We are past the peak of Cotton Derangement Syndrome. We are now at the point where it is part of the left’s DNA.
