Last month, as an electoral disaster of Biblical proportions loomed, Obama opined:
“Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we’re hardwired not to always think clearly when we’re scared.”
It’s indicative of a very tiny man when one has to blame one’s failures on the inability of the people to appreciate your cutting intellect and manifest wonderfulness. Just to show our president that our fear of what he and his lickspittles are doing to this country doesn’t affect our ability to use facts, science, and argument I offer the following:
Fact: According to Gallup Americans politically identify themselves as 54% conservative, 27% moderate, and 18% liberal.
And today from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA):
Science:
More than 45 million Americans, or 20 percent of U.S. adults, had some form of mental illness last year…
Argument: Amazing correlation, isn’t it?
Consider this to be an overnight open thread.
