Los Angeles' Latest Housing Scandal Exposes Wall Street Windfall
When Torrance city leaders rejected the County’s $30 million Extended Stay proposal, critics accused them of being anti-homeless. In reality, they were anti-corruption, protecting taxpayers from another multimillion-dollar transfer of public wealth to private hands.
Karine Jean-Pierre's Disastrous MSNBC Interview Begins on Robert Hur and Ends on 'Black' and 'Queer'
I'm here for running Jean-Pierre around in circles and making her stammer like a goat. She was one of the worst offenders of the cover-up and deserves to be held accountable.
They Love Soldiers the Most When We’re Dead
As a veteran who remembers wondering on several occasions what the future would hold during government shutdowns, I tip my hat to the man who cares enough to do something practical to help. Talk is cheap. We need more people willing to do noble things.

Anti-Gunners Silent About SCOTUS's Latest Second Amendment Case
I'm not sure what explains the reluctance to talk about Wolford, but I suspect the main reason for keeping their collective mouths shut about Hemani is that the left is generally more supportive of legalizing marijuana than the right, and the gun control lobby is far more popular in liberal circles than conservative ones.
It's exhausting to be told that a Muslim socialist hanging out with terrorists is immune from criticism. Donald Trump removing a tree planted in honor of Warren G. Harding causes a national firestorm of criticism, but Mamdani campaigning with the Imam who taught the World Trade Center bombers is a hero?

I believe we are in a global fight against Islamo-communists who are trying to subjugate/eradicate Western civilization. In order for that to succeed, there must be, according to Soviet defector Yuri Bezmenov, a terrifying level of violence that is expected to last about six weeks.

The Democrats rejected a seven-week, clean continuing resolution that funded the government at Biden-era levels. There were no poison pills or GOP initiatives. It was everything they supported back in March.

And AOC is going to keep ranting like this straight into Chuck Schumer's Senate seat because of that New York City voter base.
WHAT'S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill...
We're on Day 27 of the Schumer Shutdown and, apparently, it's driving the Democrats batty.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) appear to be standing firm, though.
Chuck Schumer wants ONLY four people to go into a smoke-filled back room — in private, behind the backs of the American people — to cut some shady deal.

That’s NOT how this works. I promised to end Congress’ bad habit of backroom, shadowy politics.

Keeping Up With the Cabinet
Sec. Health & Human Services - Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — Kennedy recently thanked Under Secretary of War Anthony Tata for intervening on behalf of Mark Bashaw, the only member of the Armed Forces to be court-martialed for refusing to take the COVID shot, and ensuring that he was reinstated.
Thank you, Mr. Under Secretary for delivering justice to these American heroes at last. And thanks to @SecWar Pete Hegseth. https://t.co/vIXr3pbov6

Full Court Press...
The courts were fairly quiet over the weekend, but expect that to change this week. We'll see some notable rulings, particularly on the National Guard front. The latest from the 9th Circuit, temporarily pausing its earlier ruling favorable to the administration while it determines whether or not to review the matter en banc, could spell trouble — but perhaps not. We'll know more on Tuesday.
- ↔️ State of Oregon v. Trump (National Guard deployment) — 9th Circuit Court of Appeals issues administrative (temporary) stay on its 10/20 stay pending appeal to resolve en banc proceedings.
In the meantime, we're waiting to see what the Supreme Court does with the administration's application for stay in the Illinois National Guard case.
COMING ATTRACTIONS
On Tuesday, President Trump will meet with new Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi before participating in a troop visit aboard the U.S.S. George Washington. Tuesday evening, he'll participate in a reception and dinner with business leaders in Tokyo.
And, unfortunately, this isn't something to look forward to, but Hurricane Melissa is barreling down on Jamaica — say some prayers for them.
MORNING MUSING
The pages of RedState are replete with examples of Dems flailing and casting about, trying to recapture the magic of their prior electoral successes. In 2024, they thought pairing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with then-Vice President Kamala Harris was the ticket to securing the male vote. And to really sell that, they tried sending Walz out to pheasant hunt...and then...remember that weird ad they did, trying to emphasize what "real men" are?
Democrats have no idea what a man is, what one sounds like, or what he thinks about. Proof: pic.twitter.com/oEgMJzvuGL

After years of branding masculinity toxic, the Dems finally realized that they still need male votes. But their attempts to reingratiate themselves with men fell flat (as borne out by the election). To me, it's clear that it's because they were pretending to be what they thought "real men" were. It's inauthentic, and it falls flat.
They're making another run at it now, trotting Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) with a baseball bat and Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-14) with his tough talk. It still falls flat. Like so much of the rhetoric we see from the Dems these days. They're play-acting, pretending to be characters — caricatures — of certain demographics, or what they believe will appeal to certain demographics. It's not working.
I'm thinking they should maybe invest in some acting lessons. Or just, you know, try being real for once.
On a different note, today was my debut as co-host on the Mike Ferguson Morning Show on NewsTalkSTL. Come check us out sometime.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
