Karine Jean-Pierre's Disastrous MSNBC Interview Begins on Robert Hur and Ends on 'Black' and 'Queer'

Karine Jean-Pierre hit the interview circuit over the weekend, and her old friends weren't in any mood to welcome her back into the fold. Once a frequent guest on MSNBC, the former White House press secretary faced a hostile reception as she was grilled about her complicity in covering up Joe Biden's physical and mental decline as president.

One of the most egregious episodes during that time was Jean-Pierre's trashing of Robert Hur. As RedState reported at the time, the then-special counsel interviewed Biden over his allegedly illegal retention of classified documents following his stints as a senator and then vice president. In the end, it was determined that the former president was essentially too senile to be charged, with numerous memory lapses and cognitive issues being observed and documented by Hur.

When all of that went public, the White House went into attack mode.

After now-President Donald Trump took office, the audio of that interview was finally released, showing that Jean-Pierre and her underlings had knowingly lied about several exchanges, including the false assertion that Hur had inappropriately brought up the death of Biden's son. In reality, the former president brought it up for no particular reason, something he did often as a president, and then forgot what year it happened.

Jean-Pierre was asked if she had ever apologized to Hur, a question she didn't seem prepared for.

HOST: Special Counsel Robert Hur, when his report came out about President Biden and the classified documents, you stood from the White House podium, February 2024, and you said that his commentary was gratuitous, that it was unacceptable, and that it didn't live in reality, and clearly the American public saw another side of Joe Biden's mental acuity during the summer's debate. Robert Hur was unemployed for a period because of the attacks from the Democrats and from the White House that you were at the podium leading. Have you apologized to Robert Hur.

JEAN-PIERRE: I mean (stammers), look, what I can say to you is I saw the president every day. It wasn't one-offs. It wasn't once in a while. I saw him everyday.

HOST: But just in this case, have you gone back to somehow who you had pretty sharp comments about...

(Crosstalk)

JEAN-Pierre: He is something that was sharp. He was sharp, he was, he was...

(Crosstalk)

JEAN-PIERRE: What I'm saying is that my reality was this. My reality was somebody that I saw every single day, who was sharp, who pushed his team, who was understanding very clearly of the policy of history. That was what I saw. I can only speak for what I saw on a daily basis for two-and-a-half years, almost four years actually. And, I was White House press secretary for two and a half years, and that is the president that I know. Someone who woke up every single day and was very zeroed-in and focused on how to deliver for the American people.

That she's still going with the "he was sharp" line is simply astonishing. I spent years on this site documenting Biden's mental and sometimes physical stumbles on a nearly daily basis. I can't tell you how sick I got of writing articles about his senility, but it had to be covered, and it obviously had a major impact on the 2024 election. The idea that there was some alternate reality that only Jean-Pierre was privy to, where Biden was "sharp" and leading with "zeroed-in" vigor, is clearly false.

And do you want to know how we know it's false? Because after being hit with that question and dodging it, she predictably started talking about being "black" and "queer."

HOST: Do you have any regrets at all for anything you said while you were speaking on behalf of this administration?

JEAN-PIERRE: I am (stammers), look (pauses)

HONST: It's a simple yes or no...

JEAN-PIERRE: No, no, no, no, no, you're asking for a yes or no question. I want to put some context in it, too.

HOST: Sure.

JEAN-PIERRE: I woke up every day, I woke up every day, very proud to be the White House press secretary. I woke up every day as a black woman who is queer, who had never, no one had ever seen someone like me at that podium, standing behind that lectern. It was an honor and a privilege to have that job, and I did it to the best of my abilities...

For Democrats, jumping to identity politics is a defense mechanism. It's a way to tell others to back off or else, and having no ability to defend her rampant years of lying on behalf of both herself and Biden, she had nowhere left to go. Being a "black woman who is queer" in no way excuses what she did, but I wouldn't expect her to show any contrition.

With all of that said, though, I do want to address the press suddenly becoming bulldogs on this topic. Again, just taking RedState as an example, we wrote hundreds of pieces on Biden's senility, with almost all of them including video evidence. Those videos went viral in many other places as well. There was no great mystery about Biden's condition, yet MSNBC, which now wants to absolve itself of its own sins, spent almost his entire presidency claiming there was no problem. In fact, people like me were accused of pushing disinformation for noting what was right in front of everyone's faces.

So on the one hand, I'm here for running Jean-Pierre around in circles and making her stammer like a goat. She was one of the worst offenders of the cover-up and deserves to be held accountable. On the other hand, the press continues to show that their own status is no better. They knew about Biden, and they covered it up all the same.
