It's no laughing matter, but I can't help but be reminded of Monty Python's Black Knight when I watch Martha Raddatz's pathetic attempt to swat away concerns about Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado in her exchange with Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) on ABC News' "This Week" on Sunday.
"Tis but a scratch."
"It's just a flesh wound."
"It's only a handful of apartment complexes..."
In case you happened to miss the eye-opening exchange, here's a refresher:
Raddatz: "The incidents were limited to a handful of apartment complexes... A handful!"@JDVance: "Do you hear yourself? Only a handful of apartment complexes were taken over by Venezuelan gangs and Donald Trump is the problem and not Kamala Harris' open border?"

'Do You Hear Yourself?': JD Vance Absolutely Torches ABC's Martha Raddatz
Over Illegal Gang Invasion

Raddatz has rightly been raked over the coals for her casual indifference to the havoc being visited upon residents in Aurora — and Americans at large — by the unfettered influx of illegal immigrants being welcomed into the country compliments of the Biden-Harris administration.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ripped Raddatz's comments, stating, “I'm actually surprised that Martha Raddatz didn't finish her questioning with, ‘I'm Kamala Harris, and I approve this message.’ I mean, it was pure, naked propaganda for the Democrats,” on his "Verdict" podcast Monday.

The thing that most struck me upon hearing Raddatz's dismissive hand-wave of the situation was how thoroughly it underscored her detachment from (and utter lack of empathy for) the plight of the residents of the complexes that have been overrun. Of course, it doesn't affect her, so apparently, it makes no matter to her that people are being run out of their homes by violent gang members.
In his discussion with co-host Ben Ferguson, Cruz expressed a similar observation:
“Now, mind you, if you happen to live in one of those apartment complexes that has been taken over by Venezuelan gangs that are controlling it and terrorizing and maybe it's a problem for you, but you know, I mean, 'We're the media, what do we care about the pesky little people that live in apartments? They don't really matter.'
"You know what? Martha Raddatz has a very, very nice home in DC. She lives very, very comfortably, so not a problem for her if some little people have to deal with these criminals. What an arrogant, out-of-touch comment. Only 'a handful of apartment complexes' have been taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and she says, 'No big deal.'"
Cruz then added, "Look, I think ABC looks utterly ridiculous in that exchange.”
He's absolutely right. They do. She does.
And so do the Democrats — and their lapdogs in the media — who care not one whit about the fact that Americans are being terrorized in their own homes. As Cruz noted, "There's not a single elected Democrat that gives a flip, and that seems extreme, but if they cared, they'd do something about it. They're not concerned about the victims of crime."
Cruz also pointed out that many of the victims of these crimes are lower-income minorities — you know, the people about whom Democrats are supposed to care deeply. Yet, to acknowledge the issue would be to acknowledge the failures of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — and worse, to concede that Donald Trump has a valid point — and we simply can't have that.
