Moore to the Point - Joe Cool

I’ve always been a big Peanuts fan. And while I dug Schroeder’s piano skills, appreciated Linus’s insights, and empathized with Charlie Brown’s travails, Snoopy, of course, was my favorite. He was great just as Snoopy, but his alter egos were fun, too. Loved him as the World War I Flying Ace, and Joe Cool, well, he defined the word.

A stunning contrast to another Joe we all know and…know. That Joe, in all fairness, has a tough row to hoe. He’s battling Father Time and the Peter Principle while trying to run a country (or appear as though he is) - one beset with crime and inflation, decay and unchecked immigration, ratcheting tensions and shrinking pensions. He’s got a mess on his hands — a fair amount of it his own creation. And I don’t just mean Hunter. But that’s a whole other issue.

But Joe sought the job — and purports to be seeking it again, though how he and his team expect to sell 80 and rapidly declining, with seriously underwater approval ratings, one has to wonder.

They’ve tried to repackage him as Dark Brandon — which is laughable. They’ve reverted to pushing him as Joe Cool, with his aviator shades and white, toothy grin. But unlike a certain beloved beagle, this Joe’s alter egos just don’t fly.
