Original Story
An arrest has been made in connection with the leaked classified documents that found their way online via a Discord server in March. The individual arrested is reported to be a 21-year-old Air National Guardsman with the Massachusetts National Guard. The arrest was made after law enforcement converged on a North Dighton, Massachusetts home, on Thursday afternoon.
Per Fox News:
FBI agents have made an arrest in their investigation into leaked classified documents, Fox News has learned, as the bureau focuses on a Massachusetts Air National Guardsman.
Police vehicles were seen at a Massachusetts location believed to be connected with the guardsman. The guardsman’s security clearance and access to classified government systems have been revoked, according an internal government document reviewed by Fox News.
Further details:
The New York Times and other outlets reported that the man is a member of the 102nd Intelligence Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard who was involved in a private online group called Thug Shaker Central.
The 102nd Intelligence Wing, when contacted by Fox News Digital about the matter, also deferred comment to the Justice Department and FBI.
On Wednesday evening, the Washington Post ran a lengthy article covering an interview with a teenager who purported to be a friend of the suspect via the Discord server. Given the details available from that interview, it is not surprising authorities were able to identify the alleged leaker.
This is a developing story and RedState will provide further details as they become available.
