I've been a writer since before 2010, but it was during the 2010s that I really came into my own as an opinion writer and culture critic. It was during the GamerGate era of the culture war, and while I was heavily involved in it, one thing that needs to be understood about GamerGate is that it wasn't about video games or even video game journalism at its core.
It was a massive attack on men, masculinity, and the establishment of the feminist power dynamic.
This fight constituted the lion's share of the culture war during that decade, and you're still witnessing the fallout from it today. Despite the best efforts of many, the left was largely successful in instituting feminist agenda items that are even now plaguing society, with the ones suffering the most being women.
But that's a different article. The point is that this entry into the annals of the Western culture war saw some severe consequences for men, and I'm not talking about any man guilty of crime. I mean innocent men. Boys, even. The avenue of attack consisted of painting the natural trait of men, masculinity, as inherently dangerous, untrustworthy, and morally bad. Any display of masculinity from boys was to be tamped down immediately and with prejudice. In Universities, male students would find themselves kicked out and their lives ruined off mere accusations of sexual assault, many of which ended up not even being true.
Meanwhile, the social justice left was spreading insanely false statistics such as "one in four women will be sexually assaulted while in college," which didn't hold up under scrutiny. They pushed the idea that there was a "wage gap" between men and women, with women making far less because of corporate sexism, not at all taking into account the personal choices and work habits of women which explained the "wage gap" perfectly.
It's not exactly new information, either. Here's a YouTube video I made a decade ago discussing it.
Regardless, corporations began paying women more for simply being women despite the illegality of doing so, and now women tend to out-earn men in corporate settings in various major cities. Moreover, women tend to find themselves a higher priority for colleges and Universities, with women obtaining degrees at a far higher rate than men.
While this strategy to denigrate and villainize men in order to elevate women never truly died off, it did begin having a hard time keeping up the messaging after Musk bought Twitter and turned it into X. Moreover, it didn't help that the #MeToo movement did a lot to discredit the feminist quest for victimhood as it became clear that many of these claims of sexual assault were lies, and even some of the women making accusations were predators themselves.
Regardless, this was a very powerful moment for the social justice left as it was an effective tool at bringing their agenda about, and they're now looking to revitalize the anti-male avenue to power. This time, the focus will be more on younger boys, a tactic they've always practiced, but now with gusto.
According to the Daily Mail, Netflix's recent popular show, "Adolescence," a tale of a boy who watches online "pro-masculine" content — think Andrew Tate — and then immediately turns around and murders a female classmate.
After sending shockwaves through emotionally immature parents who immediately turned on their own sons' innate masculinity, the British government is taking action with a school program they just happened to have ready:
Schools are set to give students anti-misogyny lessons in the wake of hit Netflix TV show Adolescence about a teen boy who murders a female classmate.
The classes form part of the government's new relationships, health and sex education (RHSE) guidance, which will be introduced before the end of the academic year.
It comes after Sir Keir Starmer revealed at Prime Minister's Questions on Wednesday that he was watching the mini-series with his two teenagers - and that he backs the show creators' calls for it to be shown in parliament and schools.
Is this a real problem in schools? No, it's fear porn that authoritarians love to take advantage of. Even in the UK, youth homicide rates are low, around .01 per 100,000 for under-16s, with these murders being tied to "misogyny" being even rarer.
As usual, the facts don't matter. What matters is the ability to frighten people into compliance so that a program can be instituted that will only help advance the leftist agenda further in various ways, just like it did in America.
And don't think for a moment this mental infection won't bleed into the U.S. in various ways. The corporate world is a globalist entity, and it is generally subject to the whims of social movements. Reawakening the anti-male movement will have effects in America through corporations attempting to comply with what it perceives as desired by the people.
But sadly, corporate compliance is the least of our problems. What's really awful is that, in the wake of this social push to minimize masculinity, you're going to have a lot of broken boys who don't understand what they did to earn the public's distrust and even vitriol. Some will internalize it and become depressed, with too many committing suicide. Some will reject their masculinity, choosing instead to become more feminine, to the point of homosexuality and transgenderism. Some will become angry, and become the very people these leftists hate, however they would actually be doing the left a favor by existing, and giving these social manipulators a "see, I told you so," excuse.
Masculinity is not evil, and while I do agree that it needs to be honed, the vast majority of men are not the monsters, or even the monsters-in-waiting, that leftist culture likes to accuse them of being.
