Ever since he first started making overtures at buying Twitter, Elon Musk has kept the social media world off balance – and I think that’s a good thing. The tech giants, corporate media, and permanent bureaucracy of the DC Swamp have all become far too cozy, manipulating and morphing a valuable communication tool into a heavily controlled – and controlling – environment, where one — and only one — overriding narrative is permitted: namely, that all things progressive and woke are good – and thus, allowed – and all things right of center are bad and must be censored, condemned, and canceled.

Though he is not Donald Trump, Musk is a disruptor like Trump. If the past five or six years have shown us anything it’s that things need to be disrupted – not all things, but certainly the corrupt complacency of the ruling class — who, not surprisingly, are utterly undone by the notion of Trump being allowed back on Twitter. CBS even tried to take its ball and go home over the weekend blaming “uncertainty” on the platform, only to return to it in less than 24 hours.

I’m glad accounts like Trump’s, the Babylon Bee, and Jordan Peterson are being reinstated, but even more important than that, Elon needs to loosen the reins and let Twitter be fun again.
