Marble Halls & Silver Screens With Sarah Lee Ep. 65: The 'Jeff Charles Twitter Ban, Election Lunacy, and Jingle Jangle' Edition

It’s not calming down out there any time soon, it seems. With the press conference yesterday alleging major voting machine malfeasance in the 2020 election, questions about the sanity of anyone who might think the allegations worth looking into between now and December 14 have grown louder. And it’s frankly exhausting. But the Trump team has the right to investigate and take their evidence before a judge and seek subpoena power. And, despite what you may have been told, the media cannot grant that power so there’s little reason to present that evidence to them unless the legal team just wants to.

It seems one of the problems — from the perspective of some in the media anyway — is that attorney Sidney Powell is not giving air time to their shows. But she has been out there. With Maria Bartiromo, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck, among others. And some of the affidavits are also coming out, as this thread from Byron York shows.

Is it proof of anything? No. But it looks an awful lot like the building of a case. At issue is whether people have the patience to let it play out. They’re certainly being yelled at that they should not exhibit patience. Which does, on its face, seem a bit strange. But we’re all stuck in this together so hopefully we can play nice (admittedly, I’m losing my optimism that that’s possible since I’m in DC and it’s pretty tense here).

The show today also addresses the control of information by social media outlets, a situation my guest, the hilarious and sharp RedState writer Jeff Charles, recently furloughed from a twitter ban, experienced intimately recently. It’s really a must listen because what he did to get banned, and how he responded, might surprise you.

I also give my thoughts on the charming “Jingle Jangle” (trailer below), a place where John Legend does good work. Because it doesn’t try too hard to be political and John might want to give that some thought. Fire up the show below wherever you find your podcasts. Maybe you’ll hear something you didn’t already know.

The show lives below on Spotify and you can also find me at iHeart radio, Apple PodcastsFCB Radio’s Spreaker, and Deezer.
