NEW TOON: What Does Nike Symbolize Now?

Nike has always been a symbol of victory, drawing from its winged Greek goddess namesake Nike, a divine figure who flew above battlefields and bestowed accolades on the victors of war.

Now, however, in the wake of the company’s bows to a has-been athlete searching for cultural relevance (which, oddly, had the effect of making the Betsy Ross shoes more valuable) and their decision to pull “from China products that partnered with a streetwear label that had expressed support for the recent protests in Hong Kong,” it has become a symbol of something else altogether. RedState Cartoonist B. Black Fox sums it up nicely.
