Even before my conservative political awakening, when I was a garden-variety clueless leftist/feminist, I had a deep love for America and all for which she stood. I proudly flew the American flag and would occasionally sing the Star Spangled Banner from the comfort of my home, along with the designated singer, while watching pre-game ceremonies for football and baseball.
Did I believe that America sometimes had her faults and didn't always live up to her ideals? Sure. But that never stopped me from believing, or rather knowing with certainty, that she was without question the best country in the world.
After I converted to the "dark side," that mindset only solidified to the point that, more than any other issue, if you were a candidate for public office and you didn't believe with all your heart that America was the world's brightest beacon of hope and freedom, one whose ideals were worth defending, you would not get my vote.

Lack of belief in American exceptionalism was one of the main things that bugged me about Barack Obama. Instead of defending this country when other leaders attacked it, he got busy apologizing for it rather than telling the critics to pound sand. I mean, he came into office promising to "fundamentally" change the country that had educated him, elected him to state office in Illinois, and then the U.S. Senate, and which then elevated him to the highest office in the land.
In my view, his "fundamentally" remarks were about the biggest red flag you can get that a candidate is bad news.
The modern-day examples of a lack of belief in American superiority are arguably worse. We have NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, for instance, who made no secret of his hate for this country and the principles that make it so great.
On his very first day in office, he vowed to govern as a Democrat Socialist, and anyone who knows anything at all about Democrat Socialist Party of America (DSA) is that they, too, want to fundamentally change America in ways that would make her completely and terrifyingly unrecognizable to the Founding Fathers and to the men and women who have fought and died in past wars to preserve our country's precious freedoms.

For that matter, Mamdani doesn't even respect nor believe in the (now former) greatness of NYC, which was more than evident after he laughed it up with campaign supporter and unindicted 1993 World Trade Center terrorist attack co-conspirator, radical imam Siraj Wahhaj, as well as Hasan "NYC deserved 9/11" Piker, not to mention how Mamdani has tried to portray Islamist New Yorkers including his alleged aunt as the real 9/11 victims.
The chutzpah of this guy is simply off the charts. But 50.4 percent of the people who voted there in November chose him despite his not loving his country nor the city he wanted to lead, causing many to speculate on whether the Big Apple was well and truly lost at this point.
And then there's Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D), who honestly might take the prize as the one mayor worse than Mamdani and Chicago's Brandon Johnson, with Frey's pandering to the Somali community being 50 shades of offensive and deeply un-American. Here are some examples from this year and past years (the first two videos are from 2023):

This is peak level pandering. pic.twitter.com/OUXnIyMsWT
I've read people say that Frey "has" to do this because Somalis are a big part of his constituency, but there is a big difference in merely showing respect for different cultures in your country and essentially ceding your city/state/country to them because those cultures refuse to assimilate into ours.
Frey is a prime example of a larger pattern of Democrats for whom their country comes second (or third or fourth) to pandering to "migrants" and illegal immigrants alike for votes. I'm sorry, but if you're an elected official and you're enthusiastically flying the flag of another country in your own and are speaking that country's language more than you are your own, you've proven to me that you are an absolute sellout who is not worth defending in the court of public opinion.
More importantly, you've confirmed to me that you don't even deserve to be elected the town dog catcher, much less mayor, governor, or president.
That these people are being exposed for the America-last frauds they are is long overdue. Let's keep it going in 2026, if for no other reason than to hopefully prevent this type of thing from taking root in any more major American cities before it's too late to do something about it.
