Mamdani Era Set to Begin With Perhaps the Most Radical Appointment to Date. Are NYCers Ready for It?

It's funny how often leftists in blue cities and states will tell conservatives in red cities and states to mind their own business when those conservatives dare to weigh in on the rapid decline of Democrat-run parts of the country, with the "mind your own business" part usually being couched in terms not suitable for public consumption. ;)

My thought bubble on it, though, is that it's important to speak on issues impacting blue regions, because on rare occasions, sometimes public pressure from across the country, combined with local voices in these communities, will embarrass leaders enough to shelve the offending idea (at least for the time being). Also, sometimes their wacky ideas gain traction and find their way down to your neck of the woods, and it's less likely to take root if we've already laid the groundwork for why it shouldn't be implemented where we are.

Further, leftists rarely seem to mind their own business when it comes to what happens in conservative parts of the country, which we saw, for instance, during the HB2 "bathroom bill" drama here in North Carolina in 2016. So when the opportunity presents itself, I'm keen on returning the favor.

CASE IN POINT: The Perfect Metaphor for the NYC Mayoral Race Has Just Revealed Itself

It is with that in mind that we turn to NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani's latest appointment announcement, which, as others who are in the thick of it in the Big Apple have observed, is yet another insult to the memory of the 9/11 attacks, of which New York City bore the brunt. It's also a slap in the face in the aftermath of the 10/7 Hamas terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians, which were part of what has been a broader effort from Islamic radicals and antisemites at eradicating Jews worldwide - including in NYC, which has the largest Jewish population in the world:

Socialist New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani announced on Tuesday that he is appointing controversial lawyer Ramzi Kassem, who defended al Qaeda terrorist Ahmed al-Darbi in court, as the city’s top attorney.

[...]

Kassem served as lead counsel in al-Darbi’s defense. In 2014, al-Darbi pled guilty before a U.S. military commission to conspiracy in connection with an al Qaeda terrorist plot to bomb the French oil tanker MV Limburg off the coast of Yemen. One civilian was killed in the attack and several others were injured. He was convicted of the crime in 2017 and was transferred by the Trump administration in 2018 to Saudi Arabia's custody.

[...]

In 2025, Kassem represented anti-Israel activist and Columbia student Mahmoud Khalil who was arrested by ICE for his alleged role in leading antisemitic demonstrations on campus. Khalil has since been released, though his legal case is ongoing.

Per Fox News, Mamdani stated that "I will turn to Ramzi for his remarkable experience and his commitment to defending those too often abandoned by our legal system," which includes admitted terrorist co-conspirators and terrorist group sympathizers, apparently.

Watch:

Between this, Mamdani breaking bread and laughing it up with campaign supporter and unindicted 1993 WTC terrorist attack co-conspirator, Siraj Wahhaj, as well as Hasan "NYC deserved 9/11" Piker, not to mention how Mamdani has tried to portray Islamist New Yorkers including his alleged aunt as the real 9/11 victims, it's not even arguable at this point that the 50 percent of NYCers who voted for this sociopathic candidate have dug a hole for the city that won't be easy to dig out from in future election cycles.

And that's assuming they will even want to at that point.

Is New York City lost for good? I report, you decide.

Editor’s Note: Zohran Mamdani is an avowed Democrat Socialist and is now the mayor of New York City.
