The attorney general race in Virginia was certainly not a race anyone could have predicted would turn around the way it has, and so quickly as Election Day draws nearer.
We've documented how the Democrat nominee, Jay Jones, has become mired in scandals of his own making, with the one understandably getting the most attention statewide and nationally centering around texts he sent in 2022 in which he fantasized about murdering a former GOP colleague in the House of Delegates, as well as the man's children dying.
The other one came to light just a few days before news of the texts broke, with a preliminary investigation into whether Jones fulfilled his community service obligations in the aftermath of being convicted in 2022 for reckless driving now adding a whole new layer to Jones' campaign troubles.

Jones was caught in January 2022 speeding at 116 miles per hour on I-64. The speed limit is 70 MPH. After being convicted of reckless driving, his lawyer was able to arrange an agreement where he would do community service instead of jail time.
Jones paid a $1,500 fine and was ordered by a judge to do 1,000 hours of community service. 500 hours of that were performed with the Virginia NAACP. The other 500 hours, however, were with Jones' own PAC, Meet the Moment, with Jones, to date, not commenting on what exactly he did during those 500 hours.
The revelation that he performed part of his community service at an organization that was not classified as a non-profit and that was not non-political has prompted a New Kent County Circuit Court judge to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the matter, as RedState's Teri Christoph detailed earlier.
GOP Attorney General Jason Miyares has responded to the news by going for the finishing maneuver, noting that in no way could Jones effectively serve as attorney general if he is under criminal investigation:

The scandals and Jones' pathetic responses to them, along with Miyares' smoking him at the debate, have caused Miyares to surge ahead in all post-scandal polls taken, with the latest, a VCU poll, showing him ahead by three points.
Anything can happen, of course, but if the current numbers are a reliable indicator, it's looking like Jones will go down in defeat a second time (the first time was in the 2021 attorney general primary) in his bid to become attorney general, thanks in part to his apparent belief in Democrat privilege and that he is somehow above the law.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
