Inevitably, in the aftermath of a mass shooting, Democrats and their MSM allies will try to blame the horrific incident on Republicans and their support for the Second Amendment, no matter what the alleged political leanings of the suspect may be.
Another despicable tactic we've seen put to use by Democrats in recent years is to mock expressions of thoughts and prayers for the victims and their families, something we saw play out almost immediately after the mass shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D), for instance, said at a press conference, "And don't just say this is about 'thoughts and prayers,' right now. These kids were literally praying! It was the first week of school, they were in a church."
And as we also reported, former Biden-Harris White House press secretary Jen Psaki, now an MSNOW, host, took it even further, posting the following declaration on X:
Prayer is not freaking enough. Prayers does not end school shootings. prayers do not make parents feel safe sending their kids to school. Prayer does not bring these kids back. Enough with the thoughts and prayers.

But one should never underestimate the ability of the Democrat Party to sink even lower during times of national tragedy. As evidence, we turn to Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN), and her chosen way to mock people of faith: by hiding behind a child human shield as a way to try an exempt herself from criticism:
“Do not offer thoughts and prayers as you systematically enable such tragedies. Do not claim prayers are sufficient when children die as they pray. Do not pretend you do not understand.”

The quote was from a 16-year-old Minneapolis public school student, whose opinion piece was published by the Star Tribune, a link Smith shared in her next tweet.
Using a child's opinion to hide behind was a special kind of sick, and I wasn't the only one who noticed it:
It’s not so much that the senator mocks worshippers following an attack on their community. Where it takes an exceptionally grotesque turn is that she does it from behind a child human shield, which I suppose is on-brand for the former VP of the state’s Planned Parenthood. https://t.co/6MAgftuaej

I understand that emotions are high after mass shootings, but the continued attempts by Democrats to politicize them well before we know the actual facts, names of the victims, etc. is just gross, especially when one considers that what's happening here is that in essence, the act of Christian prayer - which is indeed what those children are doing - is being ridiculed and and insulted - while at the same time many Democrats are urging sympathy for the transgender community after learning that the shooter was transgender.
This is exactly what happened after the Nashville Christian elementary school mass shooting. Leftists seemed more concerned about how it would impact the transgender community than how it would impact people of Christian faith.
If we want to talk about what makes what happened on Wednesday more sickening and depraved, there you go. The victims were praying Catholic schoolchildren. The shooter was transgender. Think about it.
