As we reported earlier, the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle saw former President Donald Trump land a knockout punch against President Joe Biden very early on, with Biden looking and acting his age, his voice sounding hoarse and scratchy, and his mouth hanging open at times as shown on the split screen.

Trump made several great points about the border crisis throughout the debate, peppering the issue into answers he gave on other issues, like on jobs and Social Security. In a failed attempt to push back, Biden declared that the border patrol "endorsed" him.

In response, the Border Patrol Union fact-checked Biden immediately, letting the world know that they did not in fact endorse Biden - and never would:

To be clear, we never have and never will endorse Biden.

The tweet has gone viral, and as of this writing has 50,000 retweets.

CNN "fact checker" Daniel Dale tried and failed to rescue Biden with this tweet:

Biden kinda clarified, but the Border Patrol didn't endorse him ("me") as he claimed at first. The Border Patrol union endorsed the proposed bill Trump opposed and Biden supported, didn't endorse Biden himself.
