Hamas Caucus Throws 'Islamophobia' Card After Scott Jennings Points Out Inconvenient Truths on Ilhan Omar

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) appeared on CNN Tuesday night to discuss the latest developments in the Israel-Hamas war including alleged ceasefire negotiations that are reportedly on again, off again.

During the segment, Omar criticized Israel for allegedly not showing up for the latest round of negotiations in Egypt.

"It was Israel that refused to send negotiators to be at the table to carve out," Omar stated. "You have to remember that a ceasefire is not something that happens magically. It is a process that is negotiated by different parties that have interests."

Israel, of course, is not interested in a ceasefire as long as Hamas has Israeli hostages, a fact Omar demurred on in her remarks where she continued to act like Hamas terrorists were being honest brokers, all while accusing Israel's defenders of dishonesty:

"You can certainly have certain demands that you want, and we obviously want the hostages released to return to their families or American hostages that are included. There is an infant that is included in those hostages.

And so it is important that we do everything that we can, but we can't be dishonest to the point where we are saying that everybody is doing everything that they can to be at the table to negotiate a ceasefire that can lead to a permanent solution."

In the next segment, after the Omar interview had concluded, Republican strategist Scott Jennings was asked about Omar's comments on voting for Joe Biden in the fall, but he pivoted back to what she said about Israel and Hamas and absolutely went off:

I am surprised that in a year of our Lord of 2024, there is a public relations agent for Hamas sitting in United States Congress.

The reason Israel is not at that meeting is because Hamas will not provide a list of the living hostages. I didn't hear a word, a word of concern for the hostages. You know, ceasefire, she said, don't happen magically. Well, you know, there was a ceasefire in place on October the 6th. And who broke it on October the 7th?

I cannot believe, honestly, what I heard out of that interview. What I want are for those hostages to come home and I want somebody, somebody out there to show just a little bit of remorse that Hamas broke the ceasefire, raped and murdered horrifically women, all kinds of people, that's it. How about a bit a concern for those folks? That's what I'm looking for.

Watch:

Interestingly enough, several of the panelists tended to agree with Jennings although they didn't say it as explicitly as he did.

Based not just on what Omar said during the CNN interview but other things she's said and done, including jumping on the "hospital bombing" fake news, Jennings was spot on, in my opinion.

But a severely shortened clip that left out Jennings' full remarks and didn't include Omar's at all began circulating on the Twitter machine from a Bernie Sanders senior adviser, and it caused eruptions amongst the Hamas Caucus, who are now trying to cancel Jennings for pointing out what is obvious to many:

"How on earth is this kind of blatant Islamophobia so casually accepted without pushback? This is shocking." - Rep. AOC (D-NY)

"Scott Jennings’ comments are reminiscent of the anti-Muslim bigotry we saw in the George Bush post-9/11 era. It is disgusting and must not be normalized. CNN should denounce this hateful, dangerous and blatant Islamophobia immediately." - Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO)

"Blatant Islamophobia has no place in our society — let alone on primetime TV. It's dangerous, unacceptable, and cannot be normalized. Got your back, @IlhanMN." - Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)

""Scott Jennings' comments are disgustingly racist and Islamophobic. Comments like this, especially on national news, are extremely dangerous and fuel anti-muslim hate crimes. CNN should never have him on again! This hatred is unacceptable and cannot be normalized." - Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY)

It's almost like they got their talking points from someone. Oh yeah, look here:

Isn't it fascinating that in their condemnations they actually prove many of Jennings' points? Note how not a single one of them refuted what he said, nor did they express any outrage over Hamas' actions.

Further, note how they are now seemingly implicitly acknowledging that Hamas is, in fact, a terrorist group, but that they only do it when one of the Squad is being accused of having sympathy for terrorists.

So if they're upset with Omar being grouped with Hamas, why haven't they been regularly condemning Hamas for the last six months like they do Israel?

The answer is because it's not really about them taking offense at Omar being portrayed as a terrorist sympathizer. It's about shutting down legitimate criticisms of the Hamas Caucus, a tactic AOC Inc. has become notorious for over the last several years. They know the quickest way to drum up support among their unhinged faithful and to get media attention is to throw the "woman of color" and "Islamophobia" cards and hope they stick.

It will be interesting to see how CNN responds to this campaign. I would be pleasantly surprised if they told the Hamas Caucus to go pound sand, but I'm not optimistic in that regard. As always, stay tuned.
