WATCH: Joe Biden Accidentally Blows up White House Mask Narrative With One Sentence

When Joe Biden took office in January 2021, the first thing he did was to sign an executive order mandating mask-wearing on federal property. As he did so, he wore a mask.

Naturally, the media swooned and swayed.

Just a few hours later, however, Biden and his family were seen celebrating the day at the Lincoln Memorial - with many of them, including Joe Biden, violating the executive order by, you guessed it, not wearing masks.

When Biden's then-press secretary Jen Psaki was asked about it at the time, we were informed that the Bidens should be allowed to (literally) let the masks slip considering "Yesterday was a historic moment in our history. "

"We take a number of precautions, but I think we have bigger issues to worry about at this moment in time," she went on to say, apparently not realizing that she was invoking Democrat privilege, the kind of privilege that allows Democrats to say and do things Republicans would be roasted over.

Here we are into the third year of Biden's presidency, and not much on that front has changed. This was evidenced by a revealing moment during a White House event Wednesday where Biden walked into the room and immediately told attendees that though he knew he was supposed to be wearing a mask due to the fact that his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, had come down with COVID, he didn't wear one as he "walked in."

"Let me explain to the press - I've been tested again today. I'm clear across the board," Biden stated, mask in hand. "But they keep telling me, because this has to be 10 days or something, I've got to keep wearing it."

"But don't tell them I didn't have it on when I walked in," he also said.

Watch:

He did not wear one for the entirety of his 10-minute speech.

It was an absolutely incredible moment considering the fact that press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday that Biden would start wearing masks indoors again after questions were raised over him not wearing one during a Medal of Honor ceremony as he pinned the medal on its 81-year-old recipient, Army Cpt. Larry Taylor, a Vietnam War veteran.

Further, Biden was in effect bragging about not abiding by his Center for Disease Control's own guidelines despite the endless lectures we received throughout the coronavirus pandemic from him and members of his administration about how it was our "patriotic duty" to wear masks, which is also what he said about getting vaccinated.

I mean, think about it: Biden actually boasted in the fall of 2021 about the supposed success rate in getting people vaccinated under his vaccine mandate for businesses in the very same speech where he told people to overlook all the job losses that had happened due to people who refused to comply, calling the alleged vaccination rate "the bigger story."

Flashback:

The "bigger story," as it turns out, is the fact that there are apparently Two Americas after all. Except these "Two Americas" aren't the ones disgraced former Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards once described. It's the Two Americas version where in one, Democrats get to say one thing but do something different when it comes to telling you how to live your life, while in the other America, everyone else gets punished, shamed, and canceled for deciding not to play along.

Hey, if Joe Biden doesn't want to wear a mask, I'm down with that.  As my colleague Bob Hoge previously explained:

Also, a major February study from the Cochrane Library—which is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH)—showed that wearing a mask was effectively useless in stopping the virus, so why would anyone want to? Not to mention that then-White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha said in December 2022, "There is no study in the world that shows that masks work that well."

In my personal opinion, masks should be an optional thing, with businesses and medical offices and the like being allowed to set their own rules rather than mandates being put in place by the states/feds to force the issue.

The problem is that the federal government's preferred "experts" on the matter, like Dr. Anthony Fauci, keep pushing for their use, and when Fauci says "jump," BidenCo. usually says "How high?"

Already, we're seeing scattered reports of mask (and vaccine) mandates being put in place in some parts of the country in response to stories about a rise in the number of cases, but even that doesn't give you the full picture considering the fact that, as the AP reported (and as Bob also referenced), "in 96% of the country, COVID hospitalizations are considered low, according to the CDC."

But, in my view, if the mandates start piling up again and they receive Biden's blessing - as you know they will - I anticipate that will backfire on him in 2024 because at this point people have had a chance to digest and review how the federal government responded to the COVID outbreak and to compare the blue state management to the red state management.

Not only that, but all Republicans have to do in response to any Biden plea for mask-wearing and mandates going forward is to air a video clip of what he said earlier to remind people that Biden's "rules for thee, not for me" penchant has worn very thin.
