As the border crisis worsens and concerns about the increasing number of migrant COVID cases stemming in part from the Delta variant grow, the Biden White House continues to pretend as though they have both situations under control.

Both President Biden and White House press secretary Jen Psaki have said as much in recent days, with Psaki telling reporters Monday that “there’s been no change in Title 42, so families and single adults are expelled, if possible, when apprehended at the southern border” and Biden delivering a similar line Tuesday about how “we have not withdrawn the order that is sometimes critical – criticized saying that unvaccinated people should go back across the border.”

In order to stem possible COVID outbreaks, Title 42, which was first implemented under the Trump administration and which was recently extended by the CDC, gives U.S. Customs and Border Protection the authority to expel migrants who entered the country illegally, with the exception of unaccompanied children.

The problem here is that it only takes one person to cause a superspreader event, and in the case of the surge of illegal immigrants crossing the border in record numbers, thousands of COVID-positive migrants have reportedly been released just in McAllen alone over the last several months, according to fresh reporting done by Fox News reporter Bill Melguin:

Here’s how the testing is done and the number of COVID-postive migrants are determined:

A third party vendor (American Medical Response) tests them once they are dropped off in McAllen.

This is on top of the explosive report Monday from the DC Examiner which quoted one CBP official as saying not all migrants were tested before being allowed entry into the US, and a National Border Patrol Council spokesman who said the “majority of people in Border Patrol custody are not tested.”

One thing to consider here is the very real possibility that the rising number of Wuhan virus cases in Texas that Biden has blamed Gov. Greg Abbott for could be coming in no small part from the release of these COVID-positive migrants into the state. If true, the blame is more on Biden than anyone else.

It’s something to keep in mind the next time this White House tries to use Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as whipping boys for Biden’s failed policies.
