As we reported yesterday, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris both pressed pause on the whole “unity and healing” thing to take vicious swipes at their political opponents in the aftermath of the violence and chaos that occurred on Capitol Hill Wednesday.
Biden in particular especially took the low road in making references to Nazism when asked about Republican Sens. Ted Cruz (TX) and Josh Hawley (MO) and if they “should resign” after voicing objections to some of the Electoral College votes.
After hearing of Biden’s remarks, Cruz took to the Twitter machine Friday afternoon to point out how the vile accusations were not in line with Biden’s whole message of unity and healing political divisions:
Really sad. At a time of deep national division, President-elect Biden’s choice to call his political opponents literal Nazis does nothing to bring us together or promote healing.
This kind of vicious partisan rhetoric only tears our country apart. https://t.co/YMMepv1OhV

Apparently still stewing over how Cruz had schooled her Thursday on how “leading a debate in the Senate on ensuring election integrity is doing our jobs”, admitted socialist and radical Squad leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thought she’d give attempting to dunk him another try, accusing him of supporting Neo-Nazism:
They wore Auschwitz shirts, erected gallows, and tried to hang the Vice President.
Your continued excusal and denial of Wednesday’s Neo-Nazi presence is abhorrent and dangerous.
The most healing and unifying thing *you* can do is take responsibility for your actions and resign. https://t.co/TlhLkkLPJy

Cruz proceeded to turn her argument around her, noting how AOC and her fellow Squad members Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley blocked a resolution that condemned anti-Semitism in 2019:
Epic hypocrisy. Facts:
1) Nazis are evil bigots.
2) You & your anti-Israel pals blocked a resolution condemning antisemitism—which I passed unanimously in the Senate. https://t.co/kYQGO4zVVU
3) Unless they are genocidal, calling your political opponents Nazis is atrocious. https://t.co/ZV5dhUDRzD

AOC then tried to prove him wrong by proclaiming she did indeed vote for the resolution in question:
.@tedcruz again, you are lying.
Pull the Clerk record. I proudly voted for the resolution against antisemitism you cite.
Your statements are growing increasingly erratic and unfounded in fact.
I do not call all my opponents Nazis. But rest assured, Neo-Nazis are my opponents. https://t.co/5uzOIwp1GV pic.twitter.com/rp1OgjJl2T

Except she didn’t. She supported the more watered-down version at the time so as not to offend her anti-Semitical colleague Omar. Cruz corrected AOC on this point and then dropped the inconvenient fact that she and the Squad are not in a position to fling incendiary accusations at anyone when it comes to supporting extremist movements considering their support for the anti-Israel BDS movement:
Not true. The “record” you cite is the show vote on the watered-down House resolution AFTER you BLOCKED the resolution condemning antisemitism. See: https://t.co/CHlYTvFEDf
You support BDS. And you demand candidates promise NOT to visit Israel: https://t.co/6aKBDKUtAy https://t.co/Z7Kc4zfQ5D
