Tom Cotton Explains the Even Bigger Issue With Chuck Schumer's Threats Against SCOTUS Justices

There’s absolutely zero question that Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) crossed way over the line Wednesday when he leveled threats at Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.

“You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price! You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions!” Schumer declared during a pro-abortion rally that was held outside of the Supreme Court as arguments were being made in front of SCOTUS Justices on a Louisiana abortion law case.

But while Schumer’s threats were deeply disturbing regardless of how he actually meant them, there’s an even bigger issue behind what he said, which Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) explained in an interview on Fox News earlier today:

“Let’s get to the root of the issue here,” Cotton told “America’s Newsroom.” “Chuck Schumer and the Democrats filibustered legislation that would prevent infanticide of a young baby that survives an abortion, prevent late-term abortion of infants that can feel pain in their mother’s womb. These are depraved practices that no civilized society should permit, yet, the Democrats are so radical on abortion that they’d filibuster those bills in lockstep. That’s the real issue at stake here.”



Cotton’s right here. Schumer and the rest of the Democratic party can issue pseudo-apologies all they want to for what happened yesterday, but one issue they will never apologize for is for their extreme beliefs on the issue of abortion, which the vast majority of Democrats in the House and Senate believe should available on demand and for any reason and at any time. This includes even when the unborn child is well past the point of viability when the baby has a good chance of being able to survive outside the womb.

They’re so committed to this inhumane ideology that they’ll even stall efforts at protecting babies who survive abortions. That’s about as ghoulish as it gets in politics, and it’s something that should not be forgotten once all of the backlash over what Schumer said subsides.
